Buying Gold for Investment

People collect precious metals such as silver or gold either for their beauty or for investment. Gold is much preferred over silver as an investment product. Gold is normally available in coin or ingot form which is generally pure gold bullion cast in a convenient size and shape. The buying of gold to preserve wealth and maintain purchasing power has long been practised for many centuries.

Gold, silver and other precious metals can be bought through Monex Deposit Company (MDC). They are the investment leader having a large and dedicated staff of professionals committed to serving their clients needs. Being America's best dealer, they offer competitive precious metals prices.

Know where to find Martial Arts equipment?

Sports shops can be found everywhere. If you need tennis or badminton rackets, you can get them in a sports goods shop. If you need a golf set, you can easily find one. If it's a bowling ball you need, you can get it from a bowling alley pro-shop. However, if you need martial arts supplies, it's not so easy as to walk into any sports shop to get them, simply because not many sports shops stock up on these martial arts supplies.

These days, it is no longer a problem getting any Boxing Equipment and gloves or any other gear for martial arts. Globalsportswarehouse has stocks including weapons used in training or self defence. They have supplies for kickboxing, boxing muay thai, kali escrima, kendo including protective equipment, boxing gloves, armor kichshields and more. They even have kung fu slippers Bruce Lee trainers and Sai Sword carrycase and these go for a 10% introductory offer right now. Check out their other featured products with a discount.

Maldives - All-glass Undersea Restaurant

Alright, here's the answer to "What's this?". MM got it right though I love all the other answers too.

LB suggested underwater observation deck? and Waste disposal unit?
KS said Jungle restaurant?

To be exact, this is the World's First All-glass Undersea Restaurant and it's in Maldives.

Opened on April 15, this is the first ever all-glass undersea restaurant in the world and it is at the Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa. So those of you visiting Maldives, don't forget to visit this place.

Named Ithaa, it sits five meters below the waves of the Indian Ocean, surrounded by a vibrant coral reef encased in clear acrylic offering diners 270-degress of panoramic underwater views.

Diners will come face-to-face with the stunning underwater environment and be blowen away by the color, clarity and beauty of the underwater world in the Maldives. Enjoy the fine cuisine and take time to enjoy the views - without ever getting your feet wet.

Created by MJ Murphy Ltd, a design consultancy based in New Zealand, Ithaa's distinctive feature is the use of curved transparent acrylic walls and roof, similar to those used in aquarium attractions. The fact that the entire restaurant except for the floor is made of clear acrylic makes this unique in the world. A coral garden on the reef is being planted to add to the spectacular views of the rays, sharks and many colourful fish that live around the area.

Drug rehab really works

What drives people to do the things they do. I know some people who lead two different lifestyles - one in the day, the other when the sun goes down. And when the latter happens, they would hit the nightspots and use substances you would never imagine decent folks (by day) would use. Some of them are so deep into such stuff that I think they really need to get into drug rehab. Drug rehab really works. That's the truth about drug abuse and drug recovery: people get better, addicts get healed. But then again, they have to realise it for themselves that they need the treatment.

Exquisite lights and lamps

I don't know about you but when I step into a hotel lobby, I would often marvel at the kinds of lighting they have. Some of them are so exquisite that they often deserve more than a second or third glance. They are indeed a pleasure to behold. One can imagine the mammoth task of decorating a hotel, lightings and all.

What about light fixtures for the home. One of the most challenging tasks of setting up a new home has got to be getting the right lighting done up. We normally get our light fixtures from our local lighting outlets though these days, online shopping for light fixtures is fast catching on.

Sites like Farreys.com offers hundreds of thousands of lighting fixtures, lamps and lights in a wide range of styles and at the lowest of prices. They carry these fixtures from dozens of top manufacturers from Ambience to Fine Art Lamps to Flos and George Kovacs, Hinkley lighting to Maxim Lighting to Sea Gull Lighting and many more.

You can shop for indoor lights of chandeliers, accent lamps, bath vanity strips, pendant fixtures, picture lamps and many more. Their outdoor lights include pier mount lanterns, flood lights, flush and semi-flush ceiling light fixtures and others.

Farreys.com is easy to navigate and their lighting product search tool quickly helps you find the perfect lights for your application.

What's this?

Can anyone guess what this thing is? Make a guess.

Make your own bead jewelry

Hobbies are a wonderful thing. They help you pass time or provide you an avenue to express your talent. Hobbyists will agree that seeing the fruit of your labour materialise is very satisfying, be it painting, knitting, gardening or pottery.

I have an office-mate who is so good at crochet that she makes clothes and useful knick-knacks to give away.

Yet another makes beautiful costume jewelry. The pieces she makes are beautiful. She uses beads and such sourced locally. Some are from overseas. I recently found a site that could add to her list of sources. I know she will be thrilled because she is constantly on the lookout for new sources to add to her inventory.

Lalette sells a unique selection of all kinds of beads and charms for jewellery projects. They also stock a variety of jewelry making kits. Their wonderful collection of jewelry making ideas would be added inspiration for my friend.

How's your day been today?

Arghhhh!! It's Monday again. I took some shots of the sky at various times and when I put them together, I noticed that they remind me of life itself. See if you agree.

Some days, life is just fluffy and light like this. Blue skies and all things nice, not a thing out of place.

Sometimes, it's wrought with overwhelming issues with no light shining through.

Or worse, life can be like a big bad cloud looming overhead bearing down on you.

And sometimes, life's a little blur. You only get the gist of it but you get by.

And at times, the heat is so great, even the sun has to give way. By the way, that's the sun being gobbled up by the clouds in an evening orange sky.

But even bad things will pass so you get the sun shining through again

And luckily life is mostly colourful and bright with pleasant surprises along the way.

A bed of roses life is not, it is what you make of it that makes or breaks your day.

Tell me, how's your day been today?

A Dell Memory upgrade

A few colleagues had their PCs/notebooks upgraded at the same time. I believe the IT folks said it was a Dell Memory upgrade. It's nice to have people help set up your office gadgets and tend to your needs while you sit back and just wait for it to be ready. However, the bad part about systems downtime is that your work is at a standstill and very soon, you'll be twiddling your thumbs and feeling restless. I know. I've been there, done that.

"Shut up and sit down" - Altantuya MurderTrial

A place as serious as the court can have its funny moments too, at least I thought. During the recent trial at the Altantuya case, a face-off occurred which I thought was rather funny. I quote below from The Star"

Karpal Singh replied that he would rather pose the questions through the court because “the lead prosecutor was arrogant.”

“You have been very arrogant, Tun Majid. Sit down. You’ve been arrogant from day one ... Shut up and sit down,” the veteran lawyer said.

The enraged DPP Tun Abd Majid shot back: “You have no right to tell me to sit down. Only the court can tell me to sit down. You shut up!”

Fast-food ads banned from kids’ shows

Finally, all the talk by the government to ban fast food ads from kids tv is coming to a reality as fast-food companies have been banned from sponsoring television shows for children or advertising on children’s programmes. . Kids will no longer have McD or KFC toys flashing before their eyes in-between their fav cartoon shows.

The Health Ministry is also making it compulsory for all fast-food companies to disclose on their product labels the cholesterol, fat and sugar content of the food that they sell. That means, it would affect all companies that prepared food in a standardised form, served it in large quantities in restaurants and advertised their products on television. However, eateries serving the usual teh tarik, roti canai, mee goreng and mee rebus will not be affected.

The next time, you purchase a burger, you will be able to check the cholesterol reading on the wrapper, maybe not tomorrow as the government is allowing old stocks to be depleted.

If you are crying foul, you may be interested to know that we are not alone as countries including China, India, Norway and Sweden have already imposed similar bans.

It's about time we practised healthy eating habits. Stats show that Malaysia ranks highest in the world of people needing haemodialysis with 500 in every million people and in half of the patients on dialysis, the condition was caused by diabetic complications.

How to tell authentic antiques from fakes

I came across this interesting article in The Star about how to train your eyes to detect fake antiques and thought you might also be interested.
Here's an excerpt: "To avoid buying fakes, antique lovers would need to have their own memory database chart of original pieces," said Chinese University of Hong Kong Art Museum director Peter Lam
“You have to examine original objects by going to Sotheby's or Christie's auctions, visit trusted dealers' shops and read auction houses' catalogues and textbooks, especially those with illustrations.

“Then, you make comparisons. You train your eyes to know what is the real thing,”
Collectors should also feel the difference in weight and texture of the object, he said.

Beyond the naked eyes, he added, ceramic pieces could be examined with the use of penlights and loupes.

Another method of identifying fakes is through scientific examination, such as with the use of thermo-luminescence dating, where radiation in a ceramic piece is measured to identify its age.

Dot Your "i's" and Cross Your "t's"

Have you ever looked at your own handwriting and wondered whether it has any bearing on how you look and what it says about your personality?

No, I'm no expert at reading handwriting but I once read that one can improve one's memory by making it a point to dot your "i's" and cross your "t's" correctly instead of having that horizontal bar or that dot three miles away from the vertical stroke. You try it and tell me. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned gel pens are nicer to write with than fountain pens. But I digress.

Getting a Hair Transplant

It's not only ladies who are vain, guys too can be equally vain. I just found out that a male colleague has signed up for a hair transplant treatment. It's his big secret which he only told his closest buddies but somehow it spread through the grapevine and now many of us have got the news. It's no secret anymore and he too is open about it now. He is not very happy with the result and is wondering if hair transplant Florida would have done a better job of it. Who knows! He might even go for it as he's due for his US holiday soon. We shall see.

Los Angeles Cosmetic Surgery

The other day, I saw a documentary about cosmetic surgery. It is not only popular in the West, it is also catching on in the East.

The documentary covered many aspects of cosmetic surgery. It featured a California plastic surgery clinic along Rodeo Drive in LA where their offices are beautiful and their staff trained to anticipate client needs and wishes.

Their surgical facilities are built and run at the uppermost standards to ensure the highest level of safety. And even though the clinic is in Rodeo Drive, Los Angeles cosmetic surgery does not need to be a costly affair according to the documentary.

Breast augmentation is a procedure that is commonly undertaken by the Beverly Hills breast augmentation clinic. Did you know that men too go for plastic surgery?

Many men develop excess skin or breast tissue on their chests. This is a syndrome called gynecomastia and can lead to discomfort and embarrassment. The problem can be treated with direct excisional surgery, liposuction, or a combination of the two. Your anatomy will determine the best approach which the plastic surgeon would be able to explain how best to proceed.

Looking for Packing Material?

A colleague repatriated back to Malaysia recently. She was relieved to find that all the items she sent back are in the same perfect condition when they were packed in the States. Even the pieces of furniture that she acquired there arrived unscathed.
Other items like pottery and vases she collected from her travels all came back in good order. In fact, she had no doubt that everything would come back in the same order as when it was packed considering that the logistics agent the company engaged has the expertise.

Logistics companies these days have a lot to work with to enhance their expertise and customer service. Take for instance the type of packing material available for the different items that are being shipped. I came across this website, thepackingstation.com, that has a really wide selection of packing material, ranging from the regular cardboard boxes to postal packs and postal tubes to furniture covers to packing material for gifts, arts and craft. They even have wine bottle bags with reinforced base. In fact, anything that needs to be packed, thepackingstation has the right packing material for it.

Appreciative Coaching

A new book titled Appreciative Coaching: A Positive Process for Change could be the book my friend is looking for to help with his current project. He is in the training field and has recently been engaged to work with the company leaders and teams as this particular company has recently gone through a major organization change.

Through his many years of coaching and research, he supports the findings that people and organizations flourish when they focus on human ideals, achievements, and best practices. This book, Appreciative Coaching uses positive questions, mindfulness, and other tools to acknowledge the strengths of individuals and effect change.

Published by Jossey-Bass and co-authored by Sara Orem, PhD, a faculty member Capella University, an online university’s School of Business and Technology, this insightful book Appreciative Coaching would be just the book my friend would find helpful. Written for individual coaches of managers, executives, and “those who do one-on-one work with people who can influence and create change in their organizations”, it would provide the information and knowledge to help the organization and people adjust and progress moving forward.

A little about Sara Orem, PhD. Dr Orem is an adjunct faculty member at Capella University, an accredited, fully online university and is the principal of her own coaching firm. She has presented programs in Appreciative Inquiry at the National Organization Development Network, and International Coach Federation annual conferences. She lives in Oakland, California.

Capella University currently has an online master's degree specialization on Post-secondary and adult education. This specialization helps one develop and enhance skills for effective teaching in a variety of settings, including adult education, workforce development, continuing education, higher education, and military education. The curriculum focuses on major theories of adult learning and distance education and supports successful strategies for enhancing learning for individuals with diverse backgrounds.

Suffering a heart attack

What can I say? Sometimes the joke's on the other side. Which reminds me of the bull-fighter joke. Remind me to tell you sometime. Anyway, enjoy this one in the meantime.

A GUY GETS HOME EARLY FROM WORK AND HEARS STRANGE NOISES COMING FROM THE BEDROOM. HE RUSHES UPSTAIRS TO FIND HIS WIFE NAKED ON THE BED, SWEATING AND PANTING.

" WHAT'S UP?" HE SAYS. "I'M HAVING A HEART ATTACK," CRIES THE WOMAN.

HE RUSHES DOWNSTAIRS TO GRAB THE PHONE, BUT JUST AS HE'S DIALING, HIS 4-YEAR-OLD SON COMES UP AND SAYS "DADDY! DADDY! UNCLE TED'S HIDING IN YOUR CLOSET AND HE'S GOT NO CLOTHES ON!"

THE GUY SLAMS THE PHONE DOWN AND STORMS UPSTAIRS INTO THE BEDROOM, PAST HIS SCREAMING WIFE, AND RIPS OPEN THE WARDROBE DOOR.

SURE ENOUGH, THERE IS HIS BROTHER, TOTALLY NAKED, COWERING ON THE CLOSET FLOOR.

"YOU ROTTEN S.O.B.," SAYS THE HUSBAND, "MY WIFE'S HAVING A HEART ATTACK AND YOU'RE RUNNING AROUND NAKED SCARING THE KIDS!"

DUH!!

Happy Weekend, Everyone.

Friday Frolics: What Kind of Pet Would You Be?

Remember in one of my previous posts I mentioned that if I needed something to do that doesn't need thinking I'd do quizzes? Well, there was one weekend not too long ago, I spent a considerable amount of time just doing these no-brainers. I tell you, it was quite, quite therapeutic.

Thought I'd share one with you every Friday, just to wind down for the weekend. Here's one to start off. Enjoy and find out what kind of pet you would be.

Me? A Pet Bird.

You Would Be a Pet Bird

You're intelligent and witty, yet surprisingly low maintenance.

You charm people easily, and they usually love you a lot more than you love them.

You resent anyone who tries to own or control you. You refuse to be fenced in.

Why you would make a great pet: You're very smart and entertaining

Why you would make a bad pet: You're not interested in being anyone's pet!

What you would love about being a bird: Flying, obviously

What you would hate about being a bird: Being caged

Stop the Violence in Johor Bahru

Johor Bahru, the southernmost city in Peninsula Malaysia is a popular shopping hub for Singaporeans. With their currency more than twice that of the Malaysian ringgit, Singaporeans do their shopping, even grocery shopping across the border. This has contributed much to the city's (Johor Bahru) economy as well as traffic both vehicular as well as human traffic.

Unfortunately, JB (as Johor Bahru is commonly known) has lately been known to have the highest crime-rate in the whole of Malaysia - KL is next in line. This is really unnerving. Just yesterday, there were two incidences of rape both within hours of each other. The government is stepping up efforts. It's about time!!

Pretty Mailboxes

Mailboxes here in Malaysia are pretty monotonous. All single unit mailboxes regardless as to whether they are residential mailboxes or commercial mailboxes are all in one flat colour, chilli red. This is per the standard colour requirement.

Mailboxes here are just meant for the sole purpose of receiving mail, so asthetics does not come into play unlike some I have come across online. For example this one which looks nice and of high quality compared to the ones we have here.

Even the wall-mounted ones are so pretty, just like this one. Would surely make the postman's job more interesting.

Getting Gifts for Men

Getting gifts for women is a lot easier than getting gifts for men. At least that's how I feel. I sometimes think that shops are out to make money from women with the myriad of items catering to women. There is really no end to what one can get for a woman, for any occasion. For men, the common ones that come to mind are ties, wallets, cuff-links, personalized pens, brief-cases, briefs(?)... what else? lol

Ensuring Information Security

Common company information on websites is open and readily available to the public. Unfortunately, sometimes confidential and proprietary information also shows up online. This can pose a threat to companies as the information might be used much to the detriment of the companies. How does a company ensure information security and prevent confidential and sensitive company information from being exposed to the public at large?

One company that can help companies keep an eye for them is webArgos. webArgos was created to defend the reputation and intellectual property of companies on the world wide web. They specialize in finding and eliminating publicly acessible documents that are defamatory, violate a company's copyrights and/or trademarks, or do not abide by a company's confidentiality guidelines.

What webArgos does is, they do a two-month deep-dive and come up with a list of all existing potential threats on the web and each threat is assigned a threat level to indicate the extent of the threat. Clients then select from the list the threats they want webArgos to eliminate on their behalf. After the initial threat discovery is complete, clients are enrolled in the ongoing monitoring program. New threats will continue to be identified and eliminated as required.

Wash down your food with a hot drink or soup

Last Friday, I woke up at about 3am for a drink of water. It was not normal for me to get up in the middle of the night for a drink of water. After that drink of water, I went back to bed. Two hours later, I was again awakened but this time by a cramp-like stomachache. I thought nothing of it but the pain got worse and I felt nauseous at the same time.

Minutes later, I had to dash to the bathroom to throw up dinner. Dinner was fish curry so the nostrils and all got a good sting!. As if that wasn't bad enough, some ten minutes later, I had to again make a dash for a second round. This time, it was worse as there was nothing left to bring out except the bitter bile. Yucks!! That awful after-taste!

I suspected the upset was brought about by the cold water I drank earlier. It wasn't really cold, just room temperature but perhaps bad enough to coagulate the curry in the stomach? I don't know. My mistake - I should have mixed in some hot water. Good thing I felt okay after that. I remember one other time I had the same episode after a steamboat dinner and had to stay in bed a good part of the following day being dizzy and all.

On a somewhat related note, how many of us wash down our food with a cold drink? An article I received said it's not a good practice. Not sure of it's source but could be good advice. Continue reading below.

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about heart attacks. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot green tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and may lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

A cardiologist says if everyone who reads this message sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life. Read this & Send the link to a friend. It could save a life. So, please be a true friend and send this article to all your friends you care about.

I used to wonder how companies could get a high-level vacancy filled at such amazing speed. That was before I knew about recruiters or headhunters. Headhunters are a great bunch of professionals. They sure know their way around who's who connecting the right people for the right jobs.

One such professional headhunter outfit is A.E. Feldman Associates, Inc. They have maintained a high standard of service and commitment in the recruiting field. Borrowing to finance studies

Placing emphasis on education, our government gives out student loans to help those in need. Unfortunately, recouping loans is another matter as many students especially those who study overseas default on their loans when they graduated and have found jobs. Some of them even took out multiple loans. Hope they are wise enough to opt for student loan consolidation to prevent from paying higher interests and to manage their loans better.

What are girlfriends for

Last weekend was an eventful one. Had to even squeeze in a trip with a girlfriend to pick out some curtain material. This girlfriend prefers curtains to blinds. It was a good outing. She ended up getting the curtains sewn by the shop. She could collect the curtains in two weeks later.

We then adjourned to a furniture mall to check out if we could pick up any discount furniture. There was a wide selection of furniture but the place was too crowded to be comfortable. We made a hasty retreat.

Did You Know.....?

I am sure you have read these from the 'Did You Know' series.

1. Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump.
2. Statistically, people are more afraid of spiders than they are of dying.
3. Butterflies taste with their feet.
4. Mosquitoes have teeth.
5. The word "cemetery" comes from the Greek "koimetirion" which means dormitory.
6. Starfish have no brains.
7. Humans and Dolphins are the only animals that have sex for pleasure.
8. A pig’s orgasm lasts 30 mins!!

You breezed through them without much thought, didn't you? Now read them again below.

What did you learn from the above? I'm sure you'll agree that pictures are amazing in that they give you a better perspective on things. Wouldn't you say a pig has more fun than a starfish? Enjoy your ham sandwich.

Okay, enuff of that sexy thing. More findings...

- During historic civil wars, when troops returned without any casualties, a writing was put up so all can see which read "0 Killed". From here we get the expression "O.K." which means all is good.

- When the English settlers landed in Australia, they noticed a strange animal that jumped extremely high and far. They asked the aboriginal people using body language and signs trying to ask them about this animal. They responded with  ’’Kan Ghu Ru’’ the english then adopted the word kangaroo. What the aboriginal people were really trying to say was "we don’t understand you", "Kan Ghu Ru".

Getting bored? Alright, just one last one.

- In ancient England, people could not have sex without consent from the King.
When people wanted to have a child, they had to solicit permission from the monarchy, in turn they would be supplied a plaque to hang on their door when they had sexual relations.

The plaque read … "Fornication Under Consent of the King" (F.U.C.K.).
This is the origin of the word. Now you know.

One last. I promise.

Admit it! You did too. lol

It's 999 for all emergencies

I am glad Malaysia is switching back to 999 for all emergencies as opposed to different numbers for different emergencies such as 991 to the JPA3, 994 (Fire and Rescue Department) and 999 (police and ambulance).

Install a Stairlift for Mobility and Freedom

I am constantly amazed at the things one can find or look up online. The other day, I was looking for furniture and chairs when I stumbled on a UK website on stairlifts.

There are various models of stairlifts. Stairlifts would make a world of difference for those who are not so mobile or not so healthful. Installing a stairlift would certainly restore freedom and independence for those who currently find it difficult to move around the home.

Value Stairlifts has various types of stairlifts including Straight stairlifts, Curved stairlifts, Outdoor stairlifts and Standing stairlifts. They also have Reconditioned stairlifts which are offered at reduced prices. All their stairlifts are highly adaptable and designed to meet customer's requirements.

If you are in the UK and would like to install a stairlift, you can contact them for their free home estimates and surveys. They have great after sales customer service 24/7 every day of the year.

Both Sides to a Coin

Who was it who said that in any calamity there is an opportunity or something to that effect? Take for instance, the flood on Monday which could have caused some damage to vehicles stalled in the flood. A family friend who owns a chain of shops dealing in auto accessories would do a roaring business everytime "Venice came to town" as how LB put it. At least someone is glad.

Internet Advertising - Advolcano.com

Online advertising has evolved into a huge force as more and more businesses are tapping into the advantages of internet advertising. This has augured well for website publishers including bloggers as new network players are constantly getting into the marketplace offering improved programs, one such new network is advolcano.com which allows publishers to set their own pricing. How cool is that?

SMART Toll set at RM2

The mystery and waiting is over as it has been announced that the toll for the Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART) has been set at RM2 for the next three years. It was open to the public for free for a month on May 14. The toll will take effect from 11:59am on June 14.

Motorists can enter the road tunnel from the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway near the Sungai Besi airfield runway and exit either at Jalan Davis and Jalan Tun Razak near the Kampung Pandan roundabout, or vice-versa.

The tunnel is open only to cars, MPVs and SUVs not exceeding 2m in height. No motorcycles, buses or lorries are allowed. Touch ‘n Go and SmartTag facilities are available for paying toll.

Robotic Lawnmowers

Just as more and more people are moving into apartments, more and more people are also moving into bigger homes for the wider living space. The hectic working environment has in part contributed to people wanting to have a home to relax in sometimes in the form of greenery as in a garden.

However, gardeners are hard to come by these days. Luckily there are now in the market lawnmowers that can operate on its own. Take for instance, the Robomower. this is the best selling robotic lawn mower in North America and is equivalent to a 5.5 hp traditional gas powered mower.

Another robotic mower is the Lawnbott which comes standard with rain sensor and wet grass detection system. It is capable of mowing up to twice a day, 7-days a week. They are so compact that they can get into very tight spaces.

The company that markets these wonderful labor-saving machines is bamabots.com which has been awarded the coveted Consumer Search Editors Choice Award for "#1 Robotic Lawn Mowers Reviews Reviewed" and Lawnbott #1 Sales and Service Dealer Award for 2006.

So if you are looking for a lawnmower to make light of your work, the Robomower and Lawnbott mowers would be the ideal labor- and cost-saving tools. Check them out.

Wet, Wet, Wet Monday Night

Monday night was hellish for some KL folks who were caught downtown. Three hours of heavy downpour converted KL into a sea of water as major roads were flooded. If you are familiar with KL, see any landmark you recognise?

Get Paid to Blog with Smorty

Blog advertising is the new trend in online advertising. There are a number of networks connecting advertisers with bloggers.

For advertisers, they get to boost their search engine rankings with quality inbound links from thousands of fully indexed, high quality blogs thus increasing the advertisers' website traffic.

For bloggers, they write their opinion about advertisers' products, services and websites and get paid for blogging about it. Every article is unique. Every article gets the advertiser noticed. That is the reason why advertisers are now turning to blogs to get their sites, products and services noticed.

There is recently a new network in blog advertising. Smorty has come into the marketplace. The great thing about Smorty is that it pays weekly unlike most that pay monthly or fortnightly. If you'd like to make some money on the sideline, why not sign up and get paid for blogging. For advertisers, advertise on blogs, this is the way to go to get your site noticed.

Cans of Worms

A minister decided that a visual demonstration would add emphasis to his Sunday sermon.

Four worms were placed into four separate jars.

The first worm was put into a container of alcohol.
The second worm was put into a container of cigarette smoke.
The third worm was put into a container of chocolate syrup.
The fourth worm was put into a container of good clean soil.

At the conclusion of the sermon,
the Minister reported the following results:

The first worm in alcohol -
Dead.

The second worm in cigarette smoke -
Dead ..

Third worm in chocolate syrup -
Dead ..

Fourth worm in good clean soil -
Alive.

So the Minister asked the congregation -

What can you learn from this demonstration?

Maxine was sitting in the back,
quickly raised her hand and said,

"As long as you drink,
smoke and eat chocolate,
you won't have worms!"

Teach your child how to manage money responsibly

Recently, the government announced a pay-rise for civil servants. This is welcome news for this group of folks as prices of everyday items have gone up significantly, for instance, a glass of iced-milo has gone up to as much as RM2.00. Petrol is another monster and highway tolls are not called tolls for no reason.

A colleague was lamenting about her children requesting for an increase in their allowance. This has been twice in six months! They have been doing chores around the house to get some extra allowance. They have also been doing chores in their neighbourhood including some babysitting and gardening. At times, my colleague was wondering how her children spend their money and she is thinking about getting them each a debit card, probably
Teen Visa so that she can track their spending and perhaps help them manage their allowance better.

Get a reliable anti-spyware for total security

The Internet is a wonderful thing but like most wonderful things, there will be something that will come along to spoil the wonder. The dreaded element is spyware and it grows more sophisticated every day. There's also more of it, and it's more malicious than ever before.

My worst experience was a year ago when a good number of important files were corrupted and not able to be salvaged. A few other PCs in the office also suffered the same fate.

I hear there is now an advanced spyware called Spy Sweeper that is efficient in blocking and removing dangerous spyware programs. It gives you 360 degrees of protection and the powerful new Smart Shields block known and emerging spyware threats as you browse - before they even reach your computer and personal information. And if your PC is already infected, Spy Sweeper's advanced discovery methods find and completely destroy malicious spyware that hides within your PC - even spyware that hides using rootkit technology.

With Spyware Sweeper, downloading your favorite music, pictures and videos will be less worrisome as Spy Sweeper can effectively identify slight changes in new spyware threats or variants to prevent spyware threats from ever installing on your PC.

Spyware Sweeper can be installed on your system if it has just these minimum features:

- Windows 2000, XP, XP Home, XP media Center or Vista
- 350 Mhz processor
- 15 MB hard drive space
- 256 MB RAM
- Supports Internet Explorer

Looks like Spy Sweeper is an excellent solution for all spyware needs!
