NBC’s Tim Russert dies of heart attack at 58

Death in itself is devastating enough to those the deceased leaves behind but when it happens unexpectedly and to someone not old enough to die (conventional thinking), it multiplies the devastation and the pain.

I just spent some time (tissue in hand) watching videos of "Remembering Tim Russert". Even though I did not know Tim nor about his life and work, watching and listening to his colleagues and others talk about him, is heart-rending.

Tim Russert, NBC News’ Washington bureau chief and the moderator of “Meet the Press,” died Friday after suffering a heart attack at the bureau. He was 58.

Russert was recording voiceovers for Sunday’s “Meet the Press” broadcast when he collapsed. He was rushed to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, where resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.

Below are the videos I was watching.

Rest in peace, Tim Russert.
My sympathies to his family.

  1. I watched the clip, and although I have never heard of him before, it was a very moving tribute, for a great person..
