Transition of Power - Prime Minister of Malaysia

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (left) arrived at Istana Negara at 9.59am this morning for an audience with the King, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, and left at 10.57am.

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak then arrived at the palace at 11.20am to meet the King and left at 12.15pm.

Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak is expected to be sworn in as prime minister on Friday in a planned power transition that has been one year in the making.

Abdullah, who became the Malaysia’s fifth premier in October 2003, was pressured to step down after the ruling National Front (Barisan Nasional) coalition suffered its worst results in the March 8 general elections last year when it lost its two-thirds majority in Parliament.

My hope is for a better Malaysia.

  2. Although I do hope for a better Malaysia, but honestly, the Malaysia politics is pure crap. Well, more like C.R.A.P! *sigh*. I kinda got sick of it and kinda just stop reading the news.

  6. MT, We can only hope and pray.., which unfortunately is not much, eh?

Robin, you forgot, and most importantly, for the people.

CJ, I know what you mean. Sometimes, you can get so sick of all that silly ongoings that you just give up reading about it.

At least you could get away for a while if only for weeks.. LOL! Enjoy your trip.

QC, One Malaysia is difficult to imagine materialising. Still, it's a good thought.

  7. heya, ya i know... but see even usa can have a black president! we need a more united malaysia, where despite we have different races with their own cultures & traditions, but we stand as malaysians first :) (maybe i should blog on this haha)

  8. Hi QC, One Malaysia can only happen with the amendment of the constitution to eliminate the issue of race, and which seems like a no-go area at this juncture. US has total equality of all races which is like heaven and earth comparing them to us.

Go ahead and blog about it but tread carefully, okay?
