Rules for Being Human

Couldn't help but agree with these 10 Rules for Being Human..

1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it's yours to keep for the entire period.

2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, "life."

3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately "work."

4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.

5. Learning lessons does not end. There's no part of life that doesn't contain its lessons. If you're alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.

6. "There" is no better a place than "here." When your "there" has become a "here", you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here."

7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.

8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

9. Your answers lie within you. The answers to life's questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.

10. You will forget all this.

Anymore to add?

  1. You are what you think (= what you made up your mind that it is true). That is the one of the most mind-staggering truths I've come across.

  2. Oh, I've read this somewhere before. But I think we have nothing to learn, we already know everything. We just need to remember... : )

  3. The mind is awesome. I suppose 'be mindful' says it all.

Yeah, this is not new. It's been there the whole time. It's just that not all of us are aware of it to be human enough. Am I making sense?

  4. Absolutely.

I was beginning to think that this post was a bit too optimistic until I read the last line. Human nature at its darkest: live and don't learn.

  5. MM, Human nature at its darkest...

Creepy.. yet true. There are always two sides to everything as in everything bad has some good and everything good has some bad.

No. 4 is my most favorite.

When I was in elementary, the English alphabet is usually the first lesson in our English class. Often times, I found myself and my classmates complaining. Years passed but its only now that I realize I haven't memorized the English alphabet. Yes, I know that it is composed of 26 letters. But if you ask me what is the 18th letter in the alphabet? Wait, give me few seconds...Simple question but I can't answer it in a snap. Sounds stupid but true.

  7. Rej, you are not alone. I too am not familiar with the letter placings. But then again, there are more important things in life, eh?
