UFO over Muar

What a sight! Four days ago on Tuesday, a UFO was spotted over Muar, a coastal town just after Malacca in the southern state of Johore. It kind of reminds me of the "Eye of God" image that was going around some years ago. Take a look at the UFO.

Cool, huh? Image was captured on a handphone.

Muar residents spotted a reddish object near the sun at about noon on Tuesday. Many thought it was an unidentified flying object.

“The object looked static, it didn't move.

“It looked like an orb with a planet inside it,” said Muar marine police chief, Asst Supt Nordin Osman.

Crop Circle in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Are crop circles (or also referred to as crop formations as they are not always circular) created by UFOs? The above (courtesy of TheJakartaPost), a large circle formation has been found in a rice field in Krasakan hamlet in Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, a few days ago.

Though clearly sculptured by humans - it looks like an intricately designed flower - the 70-meter-wide (70-yard-wide) circle has drawn so much attention that police have blocked off the area with yellow tape. Villagers have started charging entrance fees.

Among those turning out offering opinions were officials from Indonesia's space agency, well-respected astronomers and nuclear agency officials. All agree it was not left by a UFO.

While the exact date crop circles began to appear is unknown, the documented cases have substantially increased from the 1970s to current times. Twenty-six countries ended up reporting approximately ten-thousand crop circles, in the last third of the 20th century, and 90% of those were located in southern England. Many of the formations appearing in that area are positioned near ancient monuments, such as Stonehenge. Formations usually are made overnight, but have also been made during the day.

Crop circles have been created as part of art practice as well as for commercial reasons. Crop circle pranksters have also been taken to court for causing damage to crops.

Whatever it is, I think crop circles are beautiful creations much like the crop art of Japan. Here are two crop circles as featured in Wikipedia.

This one is a 780 ft crop circle in the form of a double (six-sided) triskelion composed of 409 circles found in Milk Hill, England.

A Mysterious Flying Object

Over the weekend, while some of us were out smelling flowers
or butts (oops!), or queuing up for a Blue Tooth or the government,
or even not blogging but enjoying discovering food outlets the
day before, or out sailing or having a funny heartfelt experience,
or enjoying the pleasures of the Golden Week or not blogging
but deciphering the clouds the previous weekend, or attending a
wedding , I had a different experience.

I saw a flying object.

It was at 10-something in the morning on Sat, May 6, in front
of my home.

I was admiring the clear blue sky and the clouds when I saw
an object in the sky. At first glance, I thought it was the
moon which I’ve seen many times on a clear daytime sky.

The object was as big as the moon but more oval in shape than
round. As I gazed longer at it, I noticed that it was moving
and rather fast too. I thought to myself that it couldn’t be
the moon as I’ve not seen the moon move.

It couldn’t be a plane either as it was moving too fast and
appeared more like a disc than a plane. It couldn’t be a bird
either, I thought. It was way too high up and did not look like
a bird at all. Probably a satellite? Not that I’ve seen one.

What could it be?

I later learned that a Chinese-language newspaper carried an
article of an Australian tourist capturing a picture of a
flying object while visiting Penang a day or two earlier.

Coincidence? Could that really be a UFO?

What I saw looked something like the illustration below.
This is a Powerpoint work so it's not that exact but something
along the lines of disc-like, white in the center (circular)
and sides, and moved fast. (Probably a hand-drawn water-colour
illustration or one done with colour pencils would do it more
justice.)

The whole experience lasted no more than 10 to 15 seconds
before I lost sight of it as it went behind the mass of clouds.
This is indeed exhilarating for me. I saw a Flying Object.
