What's in store in the Sixth Lunar Month

Today is the first day of the sixth lunar month and according to a prediction I read about this lunar month, (from 19th Jul to 16th Aug), this is going to be an intense month and which it’s intensity will build up very quickly.

The report went on to say there will be displays of aggressive behaviour with people fighting to lead and having a strong desire for independence and freedom. This will be caused by people’s willingness to do what it takes to achieve their objectives that will include doing the right thing as well as adopting any underhanded means. Spreading rumours, engaging in gossip, partaking in corruption or scandals might be considered and adopted.

However, there will be rewards, job opportunities, good news and even money making opportunities in the midst of such misery. However such positive outcomes will not come about easily and be without conditions. A great deal of diligence, self-discipline, an eye for details, patience and perseverance will be required to work through the odds. Even though it will be necessary to work hard, it will also be vital to maintain good healthy habits and avoid being a workaholic. You might want to prioritize your tasks to handle important matters and plan your schedule properly. Failure to do so might result in a high likelihood of losing control and end up in a cycle of a cat catching its tail.

E.coli outbreak in the cards?

No, the above is not a kaleidoscope pattern. It's a pattern of sliced cucumber and tomato, vegetables that are causing the current E.coli outbreak in Germany. 14 people have died and more than 300 seriously ill in Germany. The outbreak has spread to other north European countries and is expected to worsen in the coming week according to medical experts.

The source of the virulent strain of the bacteria is unknown according to German authorities. Most of the deaths have been in northern Germany. The E. coli pathogen has been identified on cucumbers imported from Spain but it is unclear if they were contaminated there, during transport or in Germany.

There are 36 cases of suspected E. coli in Sweden, all linked to travel in northern Germany, authorities said. A small number of cases have been reported in Britain, Denmark, France and the Netherlands, all linked with travel to Germany.

The identified pathogen, hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS) affects the blood, kidneys and in severe cases, the nervous system and can be particularly serious for children and the elderly.

Consumers have been warned by German authorities to avoid eating cucumbers, lettuces and tomatoes and some products have been ordered to be removed from shelves.


Can we really predict the future or know what's coming? Below is a prediction (report) received last week, for the forthcoming fifth lunar month which begins on June 2. There is mention of armed conflicts and terrorist activities and natural disasters. What's new? However, I was skeptical when "DISEASES" was mentioned, but with this E.coli outbreak, can we mark it down as mere coincidence?

Subject: Time for new beginnings and start putting your dreams into action

We will be entering into the 5th lunar month that is from the 2nd Jun – 30th Jun 2011. Many people might have experienced many changes during the past lunar month. Some were traumatized, some rejoiced, leaving some still wondering what had happened. Putting the past behind us, this 5th lunar month will be a time for new beginnings, to pioneer new ideas and developing new routines. If you want to watch your ideas grow and your dreams take shape, this will be an opportune time to act. Most of us will be able to develop our individuality and leadership qualities to the utmost. Our creativity and originality will be enhanced. We will be ambitious and possess a great deal of drive to lead. We will be able to express our ideas clearly, be persuasive and charismatic. In general, you will have great expectations for yourself. Remember that you can be a pleasant, persuasive and confident leader. However if you go overboard you will run the risk of becoming self-indulgent, opinionated, selfish and domineering. Should that happen, others might feel intimidated and will withdraw from you. In doing so, you might also attract the wrong group of people to work with or to implement your plans. This will limit the likelihood of success of your plans. Success cannot be achieved by being alone or by living in our own world. Do not be a self-indulgent and unpopular leader. You will want to be seen as a rising leader with unlimited potential. During this 5th lunar month, there will be a great deal of social activities and enjoyment in terms of wining and dining. As everybody’s popularity starts to soar, there will be a lot of negative temptations lurking around the corner and many might be drawn towards vices. Everybody will appear to be friendly but most relationships might remain only on the surface. It will be best not to take such “friendliness” at face value. Dos and Don'ts in the 10th lunar month

Today is the first day of the 10th lunar month. For Chinese people of the Buddhist/Taoist faith, the first day of the month is different from any other day of the month.

My late (paternal) grandmother (when she was alive) used to get up very early every morning to chant prayers. The first day of a lunar month is a different routine altogether. On this day, she would also prepare offerings to deities and ancestors at the different altars we have at home. This is one of two days in a month (the other being the 15th day) that my grandmother would be on a strict vegetarian diet - no meat, egg nor milk. She would use a different set of cutlery, crockery and utensils.

Now back to the lunar calendar... I received an email the other day from Singapore about predictions for the 10th lunar month. They sound scary to me. Some of us may not believe in such things but it's still a good read if nothing else. Below is reproduced in its entirety for your information or attention whichever...


Subject: Avoid traveling, Thread carefully with diligence and prudence

Hi Friends,

How have you been doing during the last lunar month? We are coming to the 10th lunar month that is from the 6th Nov to 5th Dec 2010. The 10th lunar month 2010 will be worse than the 9th lunar month and you are advised to tread carefully with diligence and prudence. If you are able, avoid travelling during the 10th lunar month.

There will be indications of conflict that extend from those between individuals up to those involving larger entities that include organizations as well as nations. These conflicts might be in the form of hostilities, violence and attacks. There might be war, terrorist attacks or other forms of aggression. People will tend to get angry easily and might resort to extreme measures during this month. Hence, it will not be a good idea to engage in direct conflicts with others or to provoke them. In addition, keep away from war zones, protest rallies or being caught up in gang fights. When you are interacting with others that might include friends, colleagues, family and even strangers, be sensitive to what is going on around you. Even when in public places, you might not want to attract needless attention or unintentionally irritate others as it might not take much for you to ignite a fiery response. Just imagine everybody as being similar to walking landmines. Do not end up being a victim of another’s rage.

There will be more natural disasters and the impact will be far greater than during the 9th lunar month that might result in greater damage and casualties. If you were to travel, you might want to gather geographical information about the areas that you will be visiting. Even though some of the natural disasters might have passed, they might have left some potential dangers in the areas affected such as diseases, loose rocks, sand, earth etc. Aside from natural disasters, there might be outbreaks of diseases that could lead to new illnesses or mutated germs that will cause many people to fall ill easily. For those who have young children and elderly at home, you might want to pay special attention to this.

Another significant sign during the 10th lunar month is that there will be large masses of people moving. This will not refer to many people moving homes or taking vacations. Such movements during this month might refer predominantly to those driven away by natural disasters or fleeing from war or chaos. This might also refer to evacuations or something more sinister.

Probably by now, you will understand the reasons for advising against travelling during this month. If you are required to travel, please bring along the Jade item that you have purchased from me for protection. Some of you might be in careers that involve higher risk requiring you to be present in dangerous places. Please be extra careful about your own safety and provide me your usual trip information. If you will be staying in areas/countries that will be more susceptible to natural disasters, you might want to remain alert about the safety precautions that you need to take to act accordingly.

Having said all this, the 10th lunar month will be a great month to make money, but unfortunately in a negative manner. There will be people making good money during this month due to others’ foolishness or to live on other people’s suffering and pain. The purpose of letting you know this is not to encourage you to take advantage but to avoid being cheated and to be wary of such people. For example, some people or organizations might raise funds in the name of helping victims But such donations will not reach the intended recipients. There will also be those earning money through scams requesting money to assist people you know or getting them out of trouble.

The End of the World - Dec 21, 2012

For centuries, there have been predictions of the end of the world, from the Mayan calendar to the Chinese I-Ching, to the Bible and others. Oracles down the ages have come up with accurate predictions of the birth of Christ, the anti-Christ, World Wars I and II, Napoleon losing the battle at Waterloo, even global-warming, 911 and many other catastrophic events.

And now as time draws near, we are reminded of the impending end of the world. The Mayan calendar which has accurately predicted eclipses suddenly stops at one particular date which experts conclude that that could be the day the world will end.

This date is Winter Solstice, December 21 in the year 2012 - which is only less than four years away. Actually, about ten days shy of three and three-quarter years away, to be exact.

Will the world come to an end or will there be an upheaval that changes the Earth's axis displacing countries altering seasons? In fact, altering everything as we know it today resulting in a totally new world? Someone once told me that the human race will not be wiped out. Why? Because each and everyone of us has to pay for our bad karma on this Earth. But I digress..

Do you think all this hype is just a joke? Perhaps to get the human race to repent and do something positive to save this blue planet we call home? Your guess is as good as mine.
