School girl outfits

A mommy at work is all excited about her little girl taking part in a kindergarten class play at an upcoming year-end concert. She said she doesn't have to do anything in preparation, even the kids' costumes are being taken care of by the kindy.

I've often wondered how do schools get the costumes for such events. Do they commission someone to tailor them or buy them off the peg? And the costumes fit so snugly too. These days, dressing up for a costume party is no longer a hassle. One can even buy adult school girl outfits in many different styles. I am bookmarking this site.

Crystal balls banned for sale in Malaysia

If you have these crystal balls also known as Jelly Ball, Crystal Jelly, Baby Jelly, Baby Crystal and Crystal Soil at home and within reach of small children, you may want to get rid of them or move them away out of reach. These jelly balls are used to facilitate the growth of a plant or as a decoration in a pot.

The government has decided to ban their sale after receiving reports from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital of several cases of major surgery involving children aged one to five who were believed to have swallowed the "crystal balls." The ban takes effect from Friday, which is tomorrow.

Symptoms experienced from swallowing these jelly-like balls include vomiting, constipation, bloating of the stomach, abdominal pains, bowel obstructions and intestinal leakage.

Poland and Italy have banned the crystal balls last year.

The inevitable has arrived. Steve Jobs is leaving Apple as CEO.

(CNN) -- It's a moment many tech fans hoped never would come: Steve Jobs' resignation from the helm of Apple, which he co-founded from his family garage in 1976.

As that news hit early Wednesday evening on the East Coast, people rushed to online social networks to mourn the apparent end of Jobs' career; talk about what this means for the future of Apple products like the iPhone; and wish him good health.

Yoga mats at will

Do you believe in vibes? Vibes can mean different things to different people. It can be coincidence to one, fate to another or plain providence to the next. It can be good vibes; it can be bad vibes.

A girlfriend who attended a get-together on Monday was thrilled when she opened her gift after the gift-exchange. Inside, she found not one but two yoga mats. Back to vibes, she had planned to go shopping to replace one of her yoga mats this weekend and this gift has saved her a trip and extra expenses. What a coincidence? This is the type of vibes I was referring to. Do you think things happen for a reason?

Here's an image of a nice yoga mat.

Insurance plan that pays immediate annuities

Not sure if this type of insurance is available here in Malaysia but over in the U.S., there is such an insurance plan called single premium immediate annuities or simply "immediate annuities."

What this means is that this insurance product requires only a single payment and after that the insurance company pays you a pension for the rest of your life.

Single-premium immediate annuities are most useful for individuals or couples who are already at retirement age. A retiree can use his/her savings to purchase an immediate annuity, which will ensure steady income for his/her entire retirement, no matter how long he/she lives.

Polaris sportsman parts

An auto accessories shop always fascinates me. I'm fascinated by the myriad items that are available in such a shop. Inventory-taking must be quite a task, I imagine.

The other day, I tagged along a colleague to an auto accessories shop and had the chance to be up close browsing through the rows and rows of auto and motorbike parts. There were bolts and nuts of various sizes, steel ropes, LED flood lights, axles, winches and lots more. I suppose if you are looking for polaris sportsman parts, they would be available in this shop too.
