Yes, another tragedy but this time it's closer home...
Kuala Lumpur itself. More precisely, it's just next door
to the National Zoo, if you are familiar with Kuala Lumpur.
National dailies carry the story on their frontpage today.
Landslide in Ulu Klang
DISASTER: Two women died and two toddlers were listed missing when tonnes of earth flattened an Indonesian settlement of 160 homes near Taman Zooview, less than 2km from Highland Towers in Ulu Klang, on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur.

Such a shame... I don't get much Malaysian news, and reading the online dailies has become so depressing..
ReplyDeleteLB, not only the local news, world news is equally depressing. I remember attending a seminar where the facilitator advised us not to read the frontpage of a newspaper as frontpages always carry bad news. He's right. His rationale is that if we do (read the bad news continuously), we're injecting bad news into our mind which in turn messes it up and subconsciously is bad for our health. hmmmm....
ReplyDeleteNo wonder all my hair is falling off!!! *Trashing all the News Feeds!!*
ReplyDeleteLB, you know what they say about people with less hair. They have more money. Something like "less is more". haha......
ReplyDeleteOMG another one ... *speechless* :(
ReplyDeleteMy friend's house is just meters away from that landslide site...it's really difficult for them now...Nobody would thought the land would give away just like that (we are not in seismic zone)...Malaysia Boleh....
ReplyDeleteSlurp!, yeah lah, and the heavy downpours are not helping.
ReplyDeleteLow, I also have friends there. I hope they are alright and not too much inconvenienced.
On a different note, did you know that the forest after the Zoo has been designated a forest reserve park? I think the people in charge are from the "Trees" organization. I look forward to it being ready.
