Used MRI equipment

Nowadays, awareness of the need to conserve our resources has found ready buyers for used or previously-owned or some call them pre-loved items. From books to bags, clothes to cars, even niche items like aircraft and medical equipment to name just a few generics - they all have ready buyers.

Economics could be a contributing factor to the choice of purchasing refurbished over brand-new items. Substantial savings could be realized with purchasing refurbished items, savings which could be channelled to other areas of need. Besides, a refurbished piece of equipment could be as good as new having parts being replaced and all.

Not many of us would need this kind of equipment but if you are in the market for used medical imaging products and/or services, here is a source for you.

Chicago Medical Exchange (Chicago MEDX) with over 20 years of experience in the medical imaging industry, is a source for refurbished medical imaging equipment from used c-arm to used cath lab, CT scanners, Mammography equipment, even used mri equipment. They provide complete turnkey operations, including equipment drawings and planning, applications, project management, delivery and installation, training, warranty and extended service. They also buy your used equipment if you have any to offload. Call them.

McDonald's staff & Nike's new seamless shoes

Two interesting videos to watch and probably come away with a new insight. They say perception is real but sometimes it can be deceiving you'll see.

By the way, are you (in Malaysia) aware that McValue meals for lunch and buka puasa (breaking fast) come with much reduced prices? These promo prices only apply from noon to 3pm and from 6 to 9pm.

Conference calling services to the rescue

We had a free round of teh tarik (pulled tea) this morning at breakfast, a small celebration, if you will. A colleague who was scheduled to attend a meeting in India, Mumbai to be exact, needn't have to make the trip afterall.

Everyone would jump at the opportunity to travel at company expense, right? Not this person. This colleague of ours does not like to travel and will try to get out of an overseas meeting if she can. She got her wish come true again. Her trip is scheduled for September which she has already made travel reservations for. Fortunately, tickets have not been issued so no loss there. We have conference call facilities in our major conference rooms so thanks to conference calling services, she could follow the meeting proceedings without having to be there. Technology rocks, eh?

An Idea for a Birthday gift

No idea on a birthday gift for your wife this year? Forget diamonds, forget pearls or any of those expensive gifts you used to splurge on previous years. Go practical this year.

This time, send your lovely wife a brimming crate full of Mrs Fields bites or a huge platter of those delicious chocolate-dipped strawberries. You'll get to enjoy them too!

Come to think of it, these make great gifts for any occasion. Your mom would love them too.

Toxic art - Portraits using Pills

Celebrities make popular subjects for art, in any medium. These celebs don't need introduction. Besides being famous in the entertainment arena, one thing they have in common is that they are no longer with us. Gone too soon, indeed! What did they all succumb to? Take a closer look at the images below and you might get a clue. Click on them to enlarge for a better view.

Amy Winehouse

Michael Jackson

Heath Ledger

Great works of art, don't you think? These portraits are created by a U.S.-based artist, Jason Mercier, using colorful medications, as part of a series of mosaics inspired by celebrities who battled drug abuse.

Rehab-star Amy Winehouse died at the end of last month, bringing to an end her well publicised battle with crack cocaine, heroin and alcohol. We all know what happened to Michael Jackson and Heath Ledger.

So sad..

Hacker group to destroy Facebook on Nov 5?

Can't live without Facebook? Need you be concerned about the following news? (courtesy of Daily Chilli.)

An-anti Facebook movement called Operation Facebook, or #OpFacebook, is reportedly planning to kill the social networking site on November 5.

Calling themselves Anonymous, the hackers posted their video message on YouTube, saying: "Your medium of communication you all so dearly adore will be destroyed.

"Everything you do on Facebook stays on Facebook regardless of your privacy settings, and deleting your account is impossible. Even if you delete your account, all your information stays on Facebook and can be recovered at any time."

Operation Facebook added: "[Facebook] knows more about you than your family. It has been selling information to government agencies and giving clandestine access to information security firms so that they can spy on people from all around the world."

But the real hacker group, Anonymous has denied that it is behind the planned attack.
