“Life of Pablo” rapper Kanye West canceled his concert (mid-song) at the Meadows Festival in New York Sunday night citing a family emergency and didn’t give further details. Concertgoers were upset naturally not knowing West’s wife, Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint in her Paris apartment in a robbery.

The 35-year-old reality star went through a horrific ordeal on Monday (03.10.16) when five thieves dressed as policemen robbed her at gunpoint in her apartment in Paris, during which they tied her hands with plastic handcuffs, duct taped her, and stole more than $10 million worth of jewels, and Pascal Duvier (her bodyguard) - who was out with her sisters Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian - is adamant the culprits will be found.

Police sources have revealed Kim was tailed by two men in the days before the robbery, with the suspects - described as Caucasian and North African and having French accents - posing as a plain-clothes detective and a photographer to gain 'close surveillance' information ahead of the terrifying incident.

And one had even tried to gain access to the 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star's apartment within the exclusive Hotel Pourtales.

A source said: "Kim Kardashian was tailed for at least three days before the robbery.

According to CNN, Billionaire U.S. media mogul Oprah Winfrey says she was the victim of racism on a recent trip to Switzerland when a shop assistant refused to show her a handbag because it was "too expensive."

Winfrey was in Zurich for Tina Turner's wedding in late July when she left her hotel alone and popped into an upscale handbag shop.

She went into the shop and asked to see the crocodile skin bag. The shop assistant said, 'No, it's too expensive.'"

Winfrey says she asked again to see the bag -- a $38,000 crocodile skin number by Tom Ford -- and the woman again refused, saying, "No no no, you don't want to see that one, you want to see this one, because that one will cost too much and you will not be able to afford that."

Winfrey says she asked a final time to see the bag: "One more time I tried -- I said, 'But I really do just want to see that one,' and she said, 'I don't want to to hurt your feelings,' and I said, 'Ok thank you so much, you're probably right, I can't afford it and walked out of the store. Now why did she do that?"

Winfrey chose not to identify the shop, but the name of the high-end boutique -- Trois Pomme -- was soon revealed. The shop's manager told CNN the entire incident was a "200 percent misunderstanding" and had nothing to do with racism.

Glee star died from alcohol and heroin

The sudden death of Glee star, Cory Monteith, on Saturday shocked friends and fans around the world and got people wondering as to the cause of his death.

After the autopsy on Monday, a coroner in British Columbia announced that he died from a heroin and alcohol overdose.

The 31-year-old Canadian actor, who played Finn Hudson in the Fox TV hit, was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on Saturday.

Monteith, who had been in the musical comedy since its 2009 start, was treated for drug addiction in April.

Fox TV officials had described Monteith as "an exceptional talent".


In a statement, the coroner's office said: "There is no evidence to suggest Mr Monteith's death was anything other than a most tragic accident."

It said a post-mortem examination had determined "a mixed-drug toxicity involving heroin and alcohol" was the cause of death.

Monteith is thought to have been alone when he died because video footage and other evidence suggested he had returned to his room at the city centre Pacific Rim Hotel by himself after spending time with other people.

The alarm was raised when he failed to check out at midday on 13 July. He had been staying at the hotel for a week.

I was shocked and saddened by news of the death of one of my favourite actors on Glee.

CANADIAN actor Cory Monteith, 31-year-old heartthrob of Fox's musical-comedy television series Glee, was found dead on Saturday in his Vancouver hotel room (Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in the city centre) in Canada, police said.

There were no signs of foul play according to Police and paramedics and the cause of death was not immediately apparent, British Columbia Chief Coroner Lisa Lapointe told reporters at a news conference in Vancouver.

Monteith had talked about his problems with substance abuse.

In response to a question about whether Monteith died of a drug overdose, Vancouver Police Department acting chief Doug LePard said he would "not discuss anything that we might have found in the room at this time".

An autopsy was set for Monday.

Remember Edison Chen? The Hong Kong actor/singer who made headlines several years ago about the leaked photographs he took of a number of popular celebrities in the entertainment business?

I came across an interview he did with CNN. He said he wanted to wait till after the trial before he came out in the open to speak about it.

A lot of viewers are on his side. A few sample comments below..

Latest Hong Kong celebrity wedding has got to be Sam Lee's. Anyone who watches Hong Kong TVB shows would know who Sam is. He married his fashion designer girlfriend, Pae Leung on Nov 17.

Sam Lee Chan-Sam is an actor from Hong Kong. He started his film career when he was first spotted by director Fruit Chan who cast him in Made in Hong Kong. Recently, he is best remembered for his role as the rich-kid-turned-passionate social worker in Ghetto Justice.

Outside of his film career, Sam is a seasonal member of a Hong Kong hip hop band Lazy Mutha Fucka (LMF) where he is the rapper. Sam Lee is also known as DJ Becareful. (Wikipedia)

A Horror Story..maybe

I was reading about Steven Hawking's suggestion that aliens almost certainly exist but has warned humanity not to try to contact them. This article is dated Apr 2010.

Aliens may not be how we have always imagined them to be (looking like cute ET, for instance) or as friendly as we think they are afterall.

Hawking says that in a universe with 100 billion galaxies, each containing hundreds of millions of stars, it is unlikely that earth is the only place where life has evolved.

"The real challenge is working out what aliens might actually be like."

Hawking says that they could be microbes – basic animals such as worms which have been on Earth for millions of years, but suggests that extraterrestrial life could develop much further.

"We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet," Hawking said.

Maybe one alien we meet may be like this one..

Fedoras are gaining in popularity here. In our tropical climate, any hat is a good bet when outdoors.

Wikipedia says: A fedora is a felt hat most commonly worn by men (but women wear it too nowadays).

The hat is typically creased lengthwise down the crown and "pinched" in the front on both sides. Fedoras can also be creased with teardrop crowns, diamond crowns, center dents, and others, and the positioning of pinches can vary. The typical crown height is 4.5 inches (11.4 centimeters).

The brim is usually approximately 2.5 inches (6.3 centimeters) wide, but may be wider, can be left "raw edged" (left as cut), finished with a sewn overwelt or underwelt, or bound with a trim-ribbon.

The term fedora was in use as early as 1891. Its popularity soared, and eventually it eclipsed the similar-looking Homburg (explanation on this to follow).

Fedoras can be found in nearly any color, but black, grey, tan ("fawn"), and dark brown are the most popular. Kangol is a clothing company famous for its headwear. Founded by Jaques Spreiregen in 1938 in Cleator, Cumbria, England, Kangol produced hats for workers, golfers, and especially soldiers. They were the major beret suppliers to the armed forces during World War II. The name Kangol is derived from the K from silk, the ANG from angora, the OL from wool. Kangol products have graced the heads of the rich and famous, including the Beatles and Arnold Palmer, and later Princess Diana.

R.I.P. Donna Summer (December 31, 1948 – May 17, 2012)

Saw on CNN last night that Donna Summer has died - Thursday morning from cancer. She was surrounded by her family in Florida. Donna Summer was one of the most influential singers of the disco era. She was 63.

She is survived by her husband, singer and producer Bruce Sudano, their daughters, Brooklyn and Amanda and Summer's daughter, Mimi, from a previous marriage.

In her singing career, Donna Summer won five Grammys, videos below:











Another one of her hits, She Works Hard For The Money. This song was based on a true-to-life experience. Summer was in Chasen's restaurant in LA. She went to the bathroom & saw the attendant taking a nap with a small TV. Donna startled her & the woman told Donna she worked 2 jobs and was really tired. Donna thought 'Wow she really works hard for her money." That night Summer wrote the song in 20 minutes. The Star reported that

HONG Kong superstar Andy Lau is the proud father of a baby girl who weighs about 2.7kg (about 6 lbs), China Press reported.

It was reported that Lau's wife, Malaysian Carol Chu, 46, gave birth at the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital in Happy Valley on Tuesday.

The report also said that both mother and daughter were doing fine. However, Lau, 50, has yet to make any official statement about the birth.

Whitney Houston died of accidental drowning

I read the day that it is confirmed that there was no foul play in the death of Whitney Houston but she died of accidental drowning due to the effects of cocaine use and heart disease, according to a Los Angeles County coroner's spokesman. She was found submerged in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills hotel room on February 12, the eve of the Grammy Awards.

Ms Houston's death this way is sad indeed for one who shared such beautiful music with the world. It is sometimes unfathomable that US being so advanced with so many drug rehab centres (one of which being the san diego drug alcohol rehab treatment center) that people with substance abuse are not taking advantage of the expertise and facilities.

Over the course of a 30-year career, Whitney Houston won six Grammys, 30 Billboard awards and 22 American Music Awards.

Andy Lau applying for PR status in Malaysia?

If you are an Andy Lau fan, how would you like living next-door to one of Hong Kong's Cantopop Heavenly Kings, or even in the same neighbourhood?

That can become a reality as there is talk that Andy Lau may apply for a Permanent Resident (PR) status in view of their (he and his wife, Carol Chu) wanting to have their baby girl being brought up in Malaysia to be away from media attention in Hong Kong.

According to The Star, a Chinese language daily reported that Lau might place his daughter with Chu's family to avoid the Hong Kong paparazzi.

Andy Lau's wife Carol Chu, 45, is seven months pregnant and is expected to deliver in May in Hong Kong. Carol Chu is a former beauty queen and a Malaysian.

Recently, it has been reported that they have bought a house (of two units) along Jalan Ampang which he has denied.

However, Associated Press has been allowed to have a camera at the venue for livestreaming for fans around the world to bid farewell to the pop star.

In New Jersey, Governor, Chris Christie has ordered flags flown at half-staff at state government buildings on the day of the funeral amid a number of complaints registered in emails and other messages.

The Governor answered his critics by saying that he was not claiming Houston was a role model, but that she deserved the tribute because of her huge cultural impact and as a famous "daughter of New Jersey."

Fans who want to bid Whitney Houston farewell will also be able to watch her private funeral on E! - Whitney Houston Memorial Live. In Malaysia, it will be on Astro Ch 712, 1:30am, Sunday.

Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder have been reported that they would sing at the funeral. Kevin Costner, her co-star in The Bodyguard, and Clive Davis, the person who discovered Ms Houston and a close friend are expected to speak at the funeral. The eulogy will be given by gospel singer and longtime family friend, Marvin Winans.

Whitney Houston was born in Newark. She died in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Saturday at the age of 48. Her body was flown back to her native New Jersey on Monday.

Whitney Houston was found dead today in a Beverly Hills hotel room, the Los Angeles Times is reporting.

Paramedics arriving at the Beverly Hilton found the singer's body.

While the cause of death is still unknown, Houston's publicist Kristen Foster has confirmed the sad news.

Houston had been scheduled to attend the annual pre-Grammy party of music mogul Clive Davis, who discovered her, tonight and had attended rehearsals for the event earlier this week. CNN reports the party is still going on.

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Legendary pop singer Whitney Houston was found dead Saturday at a Beverly Hills, California, hotel, officials said. She was 48.

The entertainer, whose incredible talent was discovered at an early age, was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. (6:55 p.m. ET) at the Beverly Hilton hotel despite resuscitation efforts, a police spokesman said.

Russell Brand and Katy Perry to divorce

British comedian and actor Russell Brand called it quits on his 14-month marriage to 'Teenage Dream' singer Katy Perry on Friday, filing for divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences.

They spent the Christmas holidays apart, with Brand being photographed in England, and Perry spotted in Hawaii -- both without their wedding rings.
