The 'Bad Guy' hitmaker (above video) has enjoyed a successful year and has seen her bag her first ever Grammy nominations as well as performing at an awards show for the first time when she took to the stage at the American Music Awards (AMAs) on Sunday. She picked up awards for New Artist of the Year and Favourite Alternative Rock Artist at the AMAs

For an easy listening Sunday this week, let's go to a concert, a 1981 Central Park, New York, concert - a Simon and Garfunkel concert of 20 of their songs.

The Great Lawn of Central Park turned into a giant Scarborough Fair last night as an estimated 500,000 grown-up flower children and their children cheered two graduates of Forest Hills High School named Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, reunited in musical harmony after more than a decade apart.

Sunlight broke through gray skies and drizzle just before the words of "Mrs. Robinson" filled the center of the city at 6:45 p.m. The two were introduced by Mayor Koch with words, "Ladies and gentlemen, Simon and Garfunkel."

1981.. some of us were not even born yet but no matter, music transcends age. Yes?

Held in Tennessee, United States, the Josie Music Awards honours independent artistes from around the world.

This is her second win at the award ceremony. Last year she took home the World Music Artist Of The Year award.

The X-factor referred here is the television music competition franchise created by Simon Cowell. It originated in the United Kingdom and it is now held in various countries.

The "X Factor" of the title refers to the undefinable "something" that makes for star quality. Sad day..

S is a Sad day for music fans around the world.

Indeed a sad day. Legendary musician, Prince has passed away, aged 57.

Prince, whose full name was Prince Rogers Nelson, died Thursday. He was found unresponsive in an elevator at Paisley Park, his home and recording studio, in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

Prince rose to fame in the 1980s with hits like Purple Rain, When Doves Cry and Kiss.

His publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, confirmed to AP. “It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57,” Schure said in a statement. “There are no further details as to the cause of death at this time.”

Earlier this month, due to illness, Prince had to cancel a scheduled performance in Atlanta. Last Friday, he was briefly hospitalised after his plane was forced to make an emergency landing at the Illinois Quad City International Airport. It was reported that he had been struggling with the flu.




RIP Prince. You will be missed.

Remember Gangnam Style? In 3Q of 2012, yes, that's how long ago this video has been, Gangnam Style had then chalked up 96 million views and everyone was like, Woh!

The video even won Best Video of the Year at MTV's EMA that year in November.

Today, that figure has ballooned to a cool 2,000,000,000, that's two billion! And I just contributed one more hit which makes it 2,001,466,086 views.
