Many of us (me included) are using free web-hosts for our blogs. Even though free web-hosting is convenient and have its merits, we cannot deny that there are certain limitations and negatives to it. For instance, if you are operating your site to market products, your site would have better credibility if it is run on its own domain instead of on a free host.
There are many website hosting companies out there. So if you were to look for a web-host, how do you pick one that will give you the kind of service that you are looking for and best value for your money?
A wise move would be to check out a webhosting directory, of course, not any directory but one who is reliable, has good testimonials from existing users, has won many awards and has a good rating.
Webhostingrating.com is one such directory. Its many awards speak for itself. They include Best Budget Hosting, Best Blog Hosting, Best Forum Hosting, Best Unix Hosting, Best Windows Hosting, and many others. Domain names are in demand. Need help with choosing your domain name? They will be able to help you.
I think I will use Webhostingrating.com if I intend to get my blog hosted with my own blog domain. Why don't you too give Webhostingrating a try if you are looking for a new web hosting service.
This mean you will have to pay for your blog doman right?
ReplyDeleteHow much does it cost? :)
What's wrong with blogging for free using blogger?
Thanks for sharing info...hmm, at the moment I shall stick with freewebhosting until I really need one with my own domain. Btw, how much is the fee?
ReplyDeleteHi, Happy,
ReplyDeleteHope everything is fine with you!
For normal or non-professional blogging, free web-host is good enough.
I agree with Joepsc totally. Why bother paying for a non-professional blog when a free web-host is good enough and serves its purpose.
ReplyDeleteMB, yes, you will have to pay for domain name and hosting but they are not much. But then again if you are just blogging for fun, free hosting is good enough.
ReplyDeleteBut if you are marketing products or services, it is desirable to get your own domain to give credibility to your site/business. The url would have your own domain name instead of hitching on to blogspot.com, for instance.
MBL, like I told MB, the fee is not much. In fact, negligible in a business environment or if you monetize your blog. Let me see, perhaps as much as a char koay teow and an iced lemon tea monthly or less.
ReplyDeleteHi Joe, I am fine. Hope you are too. Good to have you come by again.
ReplyDeleteFor normal or non-professional blogging, free web-host is good enough.
That's true. However, some bloggers may find freehosting blog platforms are too restrictive, not enough leeway for creativity. Lots of other reasons too.
MB, along those lines, I agree.
ReplyDeleteOh then what about the cost how much its cost,Why bother paying for a non-professional blog when a free web-host is good enough and serves its purpose.
