Losing weight without even trying

What is the best way to lose some weight? Have food poisoning. No kidding, that is what a visiting colleague from the US said. She was part-joking, of course, but she did find her pants slipping down lower than usual after a bout of food poisoning that sent her visiting the bathroom (hurling and purging) throughout the night and fearful of eating a full meal afterwards for days.

No need for diet pills nor exercise at the gym. She just needed a belt to keep her pants from hitting the ground. Yeah, she got one from the mall next-door to where she was staying.

  1. That's scary. And unfortunately most of such weight loss is water. Not eating results in loss of muscle tissue, not fat, so it is dangerously unhealthy as well. Exercise and fewer calories are the only way to healthfully lose weight.

  2. These dieters need serious help! This kind of dieting doesn't work and it's damaging.

  3. PandaB, yes, that's scary but good thing, it was just a bout of food-poisoning and she has since recovered though she had to down lots of water to prevent from being dehydrated. Sadly, she has gone home to face the consequences of hurricane Ike. I hope her home is not affected being near to Galveston.

  8. Not healthy way to slim down, BUT it does help to remove toxins from the body, so once in awhile is quite a good thing, not all the time : )

  9. MB! haha... there you go again! But no apology needed. I wouldn't want you to change one single bit. You bring individuality here just like every one of the readers here and that's what creates the wonderful ambience in this space. I love it and I wouldn't want it any other way, believe me.
