Soilless planting with Hydroponic Systems

A garden or yard filled with blooms and fruits is an awesome sight. I am fortunate enough to see these everyday in my daily commute to work. Papayas on trees sometimes with birds pecking on the fruit or succulent big mangoes dangling from the tree or even coconuts falling by the roadside is a common sight.

We were talking about gardening the other day at work and someone brought up the subject of hydroponic systems. Did you know that planting doesn't need soil? Soil is just a medium where nutrients are available, enough to nurture the plant. Hydroponics is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, in water, without soil. Almost any terrestrial plant will grow with hydroponics.

  1. I love to buy vegetables that have no soil on it. Makes it easy for me to wash. =p

    I heart hydroponics.
