Dateline: Kuala Lumpur
Today is indeed a unique instance of the inner city of Kuala Lumpur being deserted as in the image below borrowed from The Star. Take a peek at police operations in the city from early this morning. KL traffic? None whatsoever, I imagine. This is the situation in KL so far this morning.
The building on the right is the Sultan Abdul Samad Building (designed by A.C. Norman, built in 1894-1897 to house several important government departments during the British administration. This building of Moorish architecture once housed the various courts.)
Dataran Merdeka (Merdeka Square) (not seen in the picture) is on the left across the street. Today FRU and police personnel standing guard at Dataran Merdeka. Police have sealed off all major roads leading to the heart of the capital, telling people to stay away from any rally Saturday.
KL is deserted today. Police are in control with road blocks in place. All major roads leading to the heart of the capital is sealed off. People have been told to stay away from any rally Saturday (today).
Bersih 2.0 (movement for electoral reform) insisted that its supporters will gather at Stadium Merdeka while Umno Youth under its Patriot umbrella will march at Jalan Bukit Bintang.

Hello there, HappySurfer. ^_^
ReplyDeleteI'm going down to KL next weekend for a 3-day course with my friends. Hope there's no inconvenience by the time we get there.
And thanks for letting me know that I should avoid yellow color (saw it in another post).
Have a great weekend ahead, my Happy friend!
