Petrol price for RON97 is now RM3 per litre

Source: The Star

The price for premium petrol RON97 has gone up by 30 sen from RM2.70 to RM3 per litre with effect from 12:01am this morning, Sep 6.

The retail price of RON97 petrol is determined by a 'managed float' in which the price changes according to market forces.

In July, the price of RON97 was reduced by 20sen to RM2.60. It was increased by 10sen to RM2.70 in August and as of today, Sep 6, it has been increased to RM3.00.

In Malaysia, the price of petrol is the same across the board meaning wherever you fill your tank, the petrol price is the same. There are two types of petrol being sold here, RON95 and RON97. The latter being the premium grade is the petrol available to foreigners (i.e., non-citizens) in the country.
