Malaysia's Mega Sale is back

The Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival is back. From June 16 to September 2, shoppers can indulge in great bargains, promotions, activities and contests that guarantee a shopping spree to satisfy any shopper. This time of the year too, Malaysia play host to hordes of tourists especially from the Middle-east. Hotels are doing a roaring business running almost full occupancy right up to September.

The festive air is wonderful and with Malaysia celebrating its 5o years of independence this year's shopping carnival promises to be better. I was out shopping with some friends one Saturday and the crowd was unbelievable! Among us, we managed to get some really nice clothes, shoes, perfume, bags. Someone even got a pair of padded panty among other inner-things.

  1. A bargain sale that runs for two and a half months? So...does Malaysia love its women, or is it torturing them?

  2. This mega sale is the government's way of regulating sales. Before this mega sale came into effect, department stores used to hold sales as and when they chose. Some of these sales were not really sales in the true sense of the word as discounts were not genuine, for instance, they would jack up the price and offer a discount. Unscrupulous. So the government took remedial action and thus the megal sale was born.

Summer is normally the time where we get an influx of tourists, so it only makes sense for this mega sale to be held this period. We, locals, benefit in a way as we will be able to make our dollars stretch shopping for the various festivals which require new personal items like clothes and such.

Being multi-racial, the people here celebrate Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, Deepavali, and Christmas. Wouldn't you say we have reasons to go shopping?

  3. Sale that runs for two and a half months...hehe...
Perhaps the sale should be extended to whole year. Then we will have:
    Low Price Every Day!!!

  4. KS, yeah, wouldn't that be nice? Most designer stuff are grossly over-priced! I know, why go for designer stuff? Because they can stand the wear and tear better. Plus, they really look nicer. hehe..
