Checking out Site Analytics is one of the things I do online. I find it interesting to see the keywords that get people to my site. Currently, Bangkok flood situation is contributing a big part of the traffic. A number of people arrived looking for medical uniforms and medical scrubs as well this week. Strangely, though the campaign is over in Malaysia, McDonalds Coke Glass is also a popular keyword phrase this week.
If you are selling things or running an online business, getting traffic to your site is not an option. Using the right keywords will attract traffic to your site and that will translate into business for you.
It seems to me that you are good with the so called internet and blogging stuff, I am an idiot,hahahhah... now i can call you my sifu already,, teach me some, guide me to make some money lol,,, hahahahah..
ReplyDeletethank you in advance first
Bananaz long way to understand the function of SEO..haha. tQ
ReplyDeleteDon't really understand all that stuff myself. I just know I like to write. xD
ReplyDeletecan't really be bothered with all these, but just to blog what i want to write.. haha!!
ReplyDeleteEugene, you are too kind. No, I am nowhere near there but something to bear in mind is to pay attention to your post-titles. Use words that crawlers can pick up and which web-users will most likely key in for search results. Take for instance, my post on Reggae Mansion, a few minutes after my post was up, it was already listed on Google and is now showing up either on Page 1 or Page 2 out of 3/4 millions of results.
ReplyDeleteYou may also want to use the same keyword(s) a few more times in the post.
Bananaz, no worries, a little knowledge can sometimes go a long way. There are lots of SEO information on the web.
ReplyDeleteLina, good enough! A liking to write is what it takes to keep the blog alive. For general/personal blogs, SEO is not important as you still have your circle of readers. But some SEO can bring you extra traffic when people come to your blog through search engines including Google, Yahoo!, etc. Of course, if traffic is not your priority, SEO is no longer needed.
ReplyDeleteSK, like what I replied to Lina, SEO is not important for personal blogs and where traffic is not a concern. However, traffic can have a bearing if a blog is monetized. Take for instance, Nuffnang ads. Earnings for their ads are based on page impressions so a blog that has more traffic would certainly earn more than one that has less traffic.
ReplyDeleteAs for other ads, such as Adsense, more traffic would mean probability of a higher clickthrough rate. No?
Btw, right spelling is important. Best to consult a dictionary any time there is a doubt.
