Glee star Cory Monteith's unexpected death on July 13th (from heroin and alcohol overdose) leaves a legion of Gleeks in mourning and the show's future up in the air. We can't turn back the clock but we can certainly celebrate his life and appreciate the legacy of his talent. RollingStone put together a few of his most memorable performances on Glee. Enjoy!
"Can't Fight This Feeling," REO Speedwagon
Monteith literally made a splash in the Glee pilot when his character, Finn Hudson, sang this 1980s power ballad in the locker room shower and glee club coach Will Schuester overheard it. The discovery prompts Finn to join New Directions – and the rest, as they say, is TV history.
"Just the Way You Are," Bruno Mars
Season Two of the show focused a lot on Kurt Hummel's struggle with being gay in small-town USA, a fact that soon-to-be stepbrother Finn couldn't quite accept. At their parents' wedding, though, Finn asked Kurt to dance with him during "Just the Way You Are" as a touching apology for the way he had lashed out.
"We've Got Tonite," Bob Seger
In the Valentine's Day-themed episode in Season Four, glee club coach Will Schuester and guidance counselor Emma were set to tie the knot, but didn't. However, Finn and Rachel, who experienced a roller-coaster romance, rekindled their relationship with the help of this duet.
