Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia Thrift Store

On Wed, June 22, Klang Valley saw the launch of the first Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia, Malaysia's very own large-scale thrift store or 1Malaysia shop.

The store located at the Kelana Jaya LRT station was launched by the Prime Minister. The shop retails 250 grocery items under the brand name “Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia” at prices 30% to 40% lower than market prices. I suppose you have to shop there to confirm the difference in pricing in comparison to prices at other stores. People who live around Kelana Jaya area would be at an advantage though the store is located near an LRT station for others to shop there.

The Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia is run by Mydin Mohamed Holding Berhad. There are plans to open more outlets. The shop operates from 7am until 11pm daily.

Have you already been there?

OMG, this is too much lah, everywhere you see 1Malaysia, but in reality how 1Malaysia are we?? it's just a political slogan, why are everybody shouting this loud??

I'm all for stores that help people but like SK said, please lahh.... enough already with the 1Malaysia propaganda. We are not going to unite just because politicians harp it on us on regular basis.

Read about this on the Singapore newspapers.

Looks like a political gimmick to me. But so long as it's good for our people, I'm all for it.

SK, Lina, doesn't it make you wanna puke? LOL!

Next thing you know, we'd be having 1M everything from buses to cinemas to schools, nasi lemak stalls, roti canais, the whole works!

It's an insult to the people for having to be reminded about it, don't you think? We all know who are the people playing up the racist cards, don't we? They are the ones who started it all and now shoving 1M down our throat! And now they have to even name this shop that! Enough!

(I need some fire in my life, thus this rant. hehe..Excusez-moi..)

Shingo, elections is coming and as far as I know, everything that is being done from now until elections is politically-motivated. Can't wait for GE13! Are you voting? Are you?

Say, has everyone who is eligible to vote registered as a voter yet? If not, do it TODAY or rather tomorrow, Monday! The Post Office is where you can register.
