Labour Day & Wesak Day holidays

The next two days will be Public Holidays in Malaysia. We celebrate Labour Day and Wesak Day on May 1 but as they fall on the same day, May 2 is an extension of the Public Holiday.

Anyone who has taken off today would be having a 5-day off-period - just nice for a short holiday somewhere, which reminds me that I should be doing some shopping for Mother's Day gifts.

Happy holidays! Happy Wesak Day! And for me, happy shopping!

  3. What a coincidence. This week is Japan's string of holidays known as Golden Week.

    Does Malaysia become totally insanely crowded because everyone is traveling at the same time? That's what happens here. As for me, I do my best to stay close to home...

  6. We only have one day holiday (Labour Day) also on 1 May.

    It's better stay in home and much better safe.

    U know what? People had a demonstration on that day, it was extremely terrible and horrify ones happened in Macao.

    Policemen fired five warning shots up to the sky. Caused a tumultuous parade and one passer-by was injured. {so sad}

  7. PP, a Labour Day Parade? That is so nice. Is this an annual event?

    But so sorry to hear about the demonstration and the injured. What was that all about? Hope the situation is alright now.

  8. MM, this golden week, I think Taiwan also celebrates it.

    You are absolutely right about the holiday places being packed. It also happens during school holidays. At times, we need to book hotels months in advance.

    Sulee, thanks. Holidays come and go so fast, don't they?

    What do I do? Let's just say I'm a slave who thinks the grass is always greener on the other side. lol
