Magnetic Man

This is really amazing. A gift in aid of charity. That is so wonderful. Will computers go haywire if he comes near one? Magnets wipe out data, don't they?

MAGNETIC MAN: Axes, knives and hammers are among the things which stick naturally onto Liew Thow Lin’s bare chest and stomach. For the full story, Magnetic man does stunts for charity

  1. I have seen him on TV...is there any explanation for all that?

  2. There was a Russian man who appeared on a Japanese "mythbusters" TV program claiming to be able to do the same thing. He was able to stick spoons and things to his bare chest, claiming it was a special psychic power.

One of the Japanese scientists heading up the show said, "That's just an old pub trick," and proceeded to do exactly the same thing! It turns out that, if you press flat-sided items against your skin, your natural skin oil can make them stick.

So...is that the case with this man?

  3. Joe, the article did not mention anything about explanation but it did say that he started experiencing this phenomenon in his 60's.

MM, I think this is an authentic case. I am still wondering though if he will mess up computers and such. Imagine everything going haywire on your PC or worse still, all info wiped out. Uh-oh!
