There are many ways one can contribute to charity. Sponsoring
a child is one way.
You can change the world for a little child.
Right now, boys and girls all over the world are living in desperate poverty. They face each day without access to proper nutrition, medical care, and decent clothing.
By uniting sponsors with needy children, Children International is able to provide them with benefits and services to help them grow up healthy.
We have selected a child for you who is in need of a sponsor. Please click the link below to meet this little girl or boy and begin to make a lasting difference by helping ease their pain of poverty.
Children International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the children living in dire poverty.
Make a difference - sponsor a child today! You just may find that it changes your life in return.
Meet your child here.
It definitely changes something...
ReplyDeleteIt may not change us but the change for some one is definitely worth it
Such organisations are indeed commendable. Their work never seems to end with the daily creation of children living in poverty, or worse, made homeless orphans through wars and diseases.
ReplyDeleteGod bless them!
Hi HappySurfer,
ReplyDeleteJust want you to know that I really enjoy reading the articles posted in your blog.
Keep up the good work and have a great day.

Z, exactly. Just like the story of the starfish. Are you familiar with it?
ReplyDeleteJoe, so true. This is a job without an end and it is high-commendable. Indeed, the world is a better place because of these individuals and organizations as well as those who participate in the cause.
Hi Arul Tean, thank you. You are most kind. I am glad you enjoyed the articles - not too shocking, I hope. Would love to have you come visit again not because you leave such nice comments but have you share your feedback for improvement. You have a great day too!
ReplyDeleteWe sponsor two children through "Plan USA" (planusa.org) - one in Tanzania and the other in Sri Lanka. Like Children, they respect local cultures and religions, and only care about helping kids.
ReplyDeleteIt is important to research any charity you donate to (Children International is also a good one in my opinion).
It is a very rewarding experience and the money we might otherwise spend on frivilous things we don't need makes a real and lasting difference in the lives of others.
Just as in the case of working for world peace, I don't believe we can leave such things to governments. It is one person helping another that can change the world.
Great post, Happysurfer. Thanks.
Some other information: you can sponsor children from india, mongolia or indonesia through this organisation: World Vision, Malaysia.

Dear Pandabonium, you are a good man. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and wisdom.
ReplyDeleteDear Red Sponge, thank you for sharing another source.
Be advised that World Vision has been used as a front for the CIA at various times when it was not possible to send their own agents into a country (such as Venezuela).
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying it is a bad organization or that they don't do a lot of good work, but you should know about that connection.
In a similar vein, Earth Island Institute, which I have supported in the past for their excellent work in the area of ecology, as been used by the UK military and secret service to gain access to some countries in the same way (most notably, Rwanda).
Pandabonium, thanks for the info. You're right that we have to be careful and do research on who we contribute to.
