A collision with a buffalo caused a train ride I was on to be delayed by about an hour a few years ago. It was a night-train and I was on the way back from Singapore.
Over here in Malaysia, buffaloes crossing the road or railway tracks have caused many an accident. A colleague lost an eye travelling at night with his family in the east coast.
I wonder in other countries, what animals are encountered? Perhaps, these?

In my home country (western Oregon) roads are sometimes blocked by herds of elk. Those are impressive, and I'd hate to ram one with my car!

MM, yes, it would be such a shame to ram one of those beauties. In fact, any animal for that matter. I remember hitting a stray dog once - he just dashed across the road - and I couldn't get my mind off it for days. I shuddered each time I thought about it. I hope that poor thing recovered well enough.
ReplyDeleteHi Mick, that was some encounter. Yes, the place is still there, Kuala Langat. You remember well.
ReplyDeleteWater buffaloes are tame not like those bulls they use in bull-fights, so it was no surprise that it did not charge at you.
I like your new blog's template. Nice.
Perhaps sacred cows in India, kangaroos Down Under, lions in the Kruger National Park of South Africa.
ReplyDeleteAnd sheep in New Zealand which we encountered. Our coach had to give way to them crossing to the other side. That was a pleasant experience nevertheless because we were able to get down from the bus and pat the sheep.
ReplyDeleteSo here comes the usage of radar detector ...because it will alarms you what all are going on in surroundings while driving....
