Millions Cried After Watching These Pictures

Do you think animals have feelings? Received an email of a moving tale of a swallow who lost his mate to death. It was reported that millions cried after watching these pictures.

THE LOVE TO SWALLOW

Here the swallow’s wife is injured and the condition is fatal. She was hit by a car as she swooped low across the road.

Here he brought her food and attended to her with love and compassion.

He brought her food again but was shocked to find her dead. He tried to move her….a rarely - seen effort for swallows!

Aware that his sweetheart is dead and will never come back to him again, he cries with adoring love.

He stood beside her, saddened of her death.

Finally aware that she would never return to him, he stood beside her body with sadness and sorrow.

Millions of people cried after watching these pictures. It is said that the photographer sold these pictures for a nominal fee to the most famous newspaper in France . All copies of that newspaper were sold out on the day these pictures were published.

Do you still think animals don’t have brains or feelings?

Even cows shed tears when they know they're about to be slaughtered.

  2. Reminds me of a documentary which I watched years ago. The documentary was about a red fox family in Hokkaido. There were 'fox papa', 'fox mama' and five cubs. But in the end, only 2 survived...

    Survival is tough...

  3. Yeah even animals cry when they see sadness. It's appalling there are humans who aren't even on the same level as animals.

  4. I've seen those pictures before, and yes, they are touching. I have seen other examples of moving devotion to a fallen mate expressed by various animals including salmon.

At least as touching if not more was a nature documentary program I once saw on TV in which a lion cub was fatally injured by a hyena. The cub's mother stayed with it, gently cradling its head in her mouth, her eyes tightly closed, for a full day and night. Finally, after the cub died, the mother remained with it for a few more hours, clearly grief-stricken. Then, slowly and tenderly, she ate it, ensuring she'd have milk to produce for her surviving babies.

The celebrity panel hosting the program were all in tears.

  5. These pictures make me want to cry! : ( But life and death is all part of the cycle. For animals as well as for us humans. I don't know about animals, but I think for humans, death is not the end. In fact, it may just be the beginning of an exciting adventure! : )

  6. MT, yeah, I heard about that. So sad.

KS, survival IS tough.. even for humans, eh? But humans are a lot more blessed in a lot of ways. For starters, we have the ability to make choices.

JL, I suppose it takes all kinds and we are all made differently - each one is unique. I sure hate to imagine that we are the product of templates, like sets of keys. LOL!

  7. MM, that is so touching, the cub story. Thanks for sharing it. You got me in tears too. So did the swallow story.

Foong, yes, death is part of life. If you believe in rebirth, animals go through the same cycle too. And to be reborn as a human is a blessing as there is more good one can do as a human than, say, a rat or an insect. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

check out this video footage, one that brought tears to my eyes.

if only we humans can learn to really love each other instead of killing each other.

  9. Hi Chiaoju, thanks for stopping by. We sure have a long way to go in terms of living in peace and harmony.

Thanks for the video link. It clearly shows that animals do have feelings like we do and they show it.

I have always believed that animals have brain and feelings too. Animals use their it to hunt food or for their habitat. Crocodiles are deceiving when they are in water specially in rivers. They don't go wild immediately. They strike with perfect timing. Dogs wail their tail when they are joyful. And of course, the birds' illustrations are the absolutely great proof. Amazing!!! :p
