Weird and Rude Food Names

Do you normally scrutinize labels on food that you buy? If you do, did you sometimes find weird (even rude) names on labels? Here are some I found on the Nuffy site that are sure to catch your attention. Apart from the logo on the ice-cream box, the rest are unfamiliar to me. Check them out.

  6. Pee could be a Ghana word.
Many Thais have the name -porn. Some Chinese have the name Sin. Not something to be joked about.

  7. Haha. That's a nice one. Sometimes they just come out a funny name for their product and never seek second opinion or this is just their marketing strategy to catch people's attention.

  10. Foong, yeah, they sure sound funny in English.

Mei Teng, LOL! though it may mean something good in the language where it comes from.

KS, it's only natural to be fascinated with word usage. I remember being tickled by the word 'foto' when I was reading the book, Roots. The word sounds perfectly normal to us but in their language, it means penis. So, imagine their people laughing at us for using 'foto' in our labels.

JG, I think they could have been from around the world. A nice collection wouldn't you say? Thanks for stopping by.
