If we didn't know any better, this image could well be a beautiful view of morning mist around a mountain but alas, it is a picture of the Indonesian Mount Sinabung sending a new, powerful burst of hot ash high into the air early Friday, violently shaking homes and trees along the slopes and sending panicked villagers scurrying back to safety.
Everything around was shaking, the air was thick with the smell of sulfur and visibility was limited to just a few yards (meters).
There are fears that current activity could foreshadow a much more destructive explosion in a few weeks or months, though it is possible, too, that the mountain will go back to sleep after letting off steam.

Hope this disaster will end soon. :(
ReplyDeleteWe should be thankful M'sia's not in the volcanic zone.
ReplyDeleteThis type of ash eruption by the volcanoes are quite common. But it is a dangerous sign for the coming time.
