The Eye on Malaysia after being in Kuala Lumpur for more than a year has finally found a permanent home in the historical city and a World Heritage site of Malacca. It was launched amid pomp and splendour last Friday, November 7, 2008. A fireworks display enthralled the 10,000-strong crowd of locals and tourists.
This 60m ferris wheel with 42 air-conditioned gondolas is located at the mouth of the Malacca river on a 1.6ha leisure park. The Eye on Malaysia is among three main attractions on the park. There will be a 30m by 60m water screen, tipped to be the largest in the region. It would display scenes of Malacca’s landmarks. This will be ready by December.
The third attraction would be a 4D space exhibition which would give patrons a feel of outer space. This will be operational by February next year.

A reason for me to visit Malacca ...:)
ReplyDeleteVery nice.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the Eye on Malaysia now having a home!
The combination of attractions should surely help bring an increase of tourists. I know I want to go!
MBL, absolutely!
ReplyDeletePete, it sure is good to have a permanent spot for The Eye on Malaysia, a boon to tourism as an added attraction for that World Heritage site. Malacca is good to visit any time of the year.
the fireworks pretty stunning.
ReplyDeleteMust be even more, to see it in person, eh? So, you'd be on it the next visit home, right? ;)
