Pen-drive or Not

Supply meeting demand is a natural trend but this trend can turn unnatural at the expense of quality and authenticity. In this part of the world, one can buy imitation wares from cheap CDs to designer watches, from designer bags to even fake eggs. It's relative, really, cheap price for cheap goods. It's when one is not getting one's money's worth that irks the customers.

A case in point is this pen-drive that was purchased in Beijing last month. Unhappy customer only found out that he's been taken for a ride when he opened it up to check as to why the gadget was not working.

Have you ever experienced being a victim before?

Drinking Cold Water after a Meal

It's Monday morning and I got this email - though it's pretty good advice. So thought I'd share it.

Drinking Cold water after meal = Cancer! Can u beleive this??

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.

It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.

Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks.

HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE: (THIS IS NOT A JOKE!)

Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.

Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.

60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.

Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life. Read this...It could save your life!!

Let's say it's 6.15 pm and you're driving home ..

Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home.

Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.

"HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE":

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.

A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm.

In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!! "

**PLEASE BE A "TRUE" FRIEND AND SEND THIS ARTICLE TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS YOU CARE ABOUT"

Thought you should also know that I received an email earlier that says this "How to survive a heart attack when alone" procedure technically does not work. I feel when it comes to a last resort, anything is worth a try. What do you think?

By the way, have you read or heard about the blood-releasing technique to counteract a stroke? I'll have to look through my archives for this amazing article. Watch out for it.

The Pianist

Last week, most 5-star hotels in Kuala Lumpur were fully taken up. This was due to the 39th Asean Ministerial Meeting. The US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, was also present with regard to a landmark document – the five-year Asean-US Action Plan. However, Ms Rice somehow stole the limelight at the conference. Here's why.

The Star

Ah yes, Ms Condoleezza Rice, YD's joke comes to mind, reproduced below, which is also found here - in the "Comments" portion. Enjoy the joke.

Conversation...
between Condeliza Rice and George Bush featuring: Hu Jintao, President of China, UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and the late PLO Chief Yasser Arafat.

George: Condi! Nice to see you. What's happening?

Condi: Sir, I have the report here about the new leader of China.

George: Great. Lay it on me.

Condi: Hu is the new leader of China.

George: That's what I want to know.

Condi: That's what I'm telling you.

George: That's what I'm asking you. Who is the new leader of China?

Condi: Yes.

George: I mean the fellow's name.

Condi: Hu.

George: The guy in China.

Condi: Hu.

George: The new leader of China.

Condi: Hu.

George: The Chinese guy!

Condi: Hu is leading China.

George: Now whaddya' asking me for?

Condi: I'm telling you Hu is leading China.

George: Well, I'm asking you. Who is leading China?

Condi: That's the man's name.

George: That's who's name?

Condi: Yes.

George: Will you or will you not tell me the name of the new leader of China?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yasser? Yasser Arafat is in China? I thought he was in the Middle East.

Condi: That's correct.

George: Then who is in China?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yasser is in China?

Condi: No, sir.

George: Then who is?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yasser?

Condi: No, sir.

George: Look, Condi. I need to know the name of the new leader of China. Get me the Secretary General of the U.N. on the phone.

Condi: Kofi?

George: No, thanks.

Condi: You want Kofi?

George: No.

Condi: You don't want Kofi?

George: No. But now that you mention it, I could use a glass of milk. And then get me the U.N.

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Not Yasser! The guy at the U.N.

Condi: Kofi?

George: Milk! Will you please make the call?

Condi: And call who?

George: Who is the guy at the U.N?

Condi: Hu is the guy in China.

George: Will you stay out of China?!

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: And stay out of the Middle East! Just get me the guy at the U.N.

Condi: Kofi.

George: All right! With cream and two sugars. Now get on the phone.

Condi (picks up the phone): Rice here.

George: Rice? Good idea. And a couple of egg rolls, too. Maybe we should send some to the guy in China. And the Middle East. Can you get Chinese food in the Middle East?

Public toilet in Switzerland

I am sorry to have to say this but toilets have been a constant source of exasperation in this part of the world, public toilets, that is.

However, those along the highways at rest areas have seen a drastic improvement in terms of its upkeep and cleanliness. Those in the city have some catching up to do though.

This seemingly spotless public toilet was spotted in Switzerland.

Now that you have seen the outside view of the toilet, now scroll down to see how it looks from the inside. It's made entirely out of one-way glass. No one can see you in there, but when you are inside, it looks like you're sitting in a clear glass box.

Would you use it?

Photo opportunity

When it comes to posing for a camera, I'm usually lost. Perhaps I should try one of these to add some spice to my photo-album or nice girls shouldn't be doing things like these? Perhaps I should just leave it to the guys.

Telegram

Have you ever received a note or a telegram with some humour in it due to some typo error? A friend told me one of her colleagues left a note to a manager in another department that had the entire office amused for days. Her note read, "Please me" when it should have read "Please see me".

Here are a few interesting telegrams...

A daughter sends a telegram to her father on her clearing B.Ed exams, which the father receives as, "Father, your daughter has been successful in BED."

A husband, while he is on a business trip to a hill station sends a telegram to his wife, "I wish you were here."

The message received by wife said, "I wish you were her."

A man wants to celebrate his wife's Birthday by throwing a party. So he goes to order a birthday cake. The salesman asks him what message he wants to put on the cake. He thinks for a while and says let's put, "You are not getting older you are getting better".

The salesman asks, "How do you want me to put it?" The man says, "Well, put "You are not getting older", at the top and "You are getting better" at the bottom. The real fun didn't start until the cake was opened. The entire party watched the message decorated on the cake,

"You are not getting older at the top, You are getting better at the
bottom".
