P Ramlee would have been 88 today

Opening Google today brought up a surprise Google doodle.

If P Ramlee is still alive today, March 22, he'd be 88 years old.

The Google doodle depicts a caricature of P. Ramlee sitting in the director's chair holding a megaphone and a music sheet. Beside him is a guitar.

It symbolises his achievements in the Malaysian entertainment industry as an actor, director, singer, songwriter, composer and producer with more than 60 films and 250 songs to his credit.

P Ramlee on Wikipedia..

Amber Chia gets married in Bali

Malaysian supermodel, Amber Chia, got married on the exotic resort island of Bali last Thursday.

No, he is not the married businessman that she was once maliciously accused of dating. Or the old banker Tan Sri that she was rumoured to be seeing.

The 28-year-old hot lass said "I do" to her long-time friend-turned-boyfriend according to The Daily Chilli.

Among Amber's celebrity friends who flew in to Bali to witness the super private romantic beach wedding were TV personality Daphne Iking, violinist Dennis Lau and catwalk guru, Benjamin Toong.

The East-meet-West ceremony was also witnessed by close family members from both sides, who were flown to the mystical Indonesian island on an all-expenses paid trip by the generous couple.

It is believed that Amber's angelic white and sweet pink wedding gowns are the creations of top designer friends, Alvin Tay and Keith Kee.

The happy couple will be off to an overseas honeymoon. No location disclosed.

Yasmin Ahmad, 1958 - 2009

I am reading Yasmin Ahmad's blog. News of Yasmin's collapse and subsequent death on July 25 has been in the local papers the past few days. The cause of death is believed to be due to brain hemorrhage.

Yasmin Ahmad, film and advertising director was responsible for great ads like those of Petronas's - those ads that touch us as humans and as Malaysians. Those ads that are along the lines of OneMalaysia, indeed. Perhaps the films Sepet and Gubra are more familiar to you?

Yasmin Ahmad was laid to rest yesterday at noon. She was 51. Hundreds bade Yasmin farewell.

Malaysia has lost a true Malaysian..

Let me share two of Yasmin Ahmad's creative works. You can view more on YouTube.
