Sun! Sun! Sun! Here It Comes!

Yippee!! The sun is out today and we have blue skies again!
Ermmmmmmm....... sweet, sweet fresh air.

It's been grey and gloomy the past few days so having
the sun merrily streaming in through my window was such
a welcome sight. Plus, I caught a really, really nice
cheerful song on the way to work.

Wanted to know more of it so a search resulted in the
lyrics below. Found out it's not a new song but no matter,
I like it.

Hope you'll have a day that makes you feel like dancing too.

YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE DANCING
(Leo Sayer/Vini Poncia)

You’ve got a cute way of talkin’
You got the better of me
Just snap your fingers and I’m walkin’
Like a dog hanging on your lead
I’m in a spin you know
Shakin’ on string you know
You make me feel like dancing
I’m gonna dance the night away
You make me feel like dancing
I’m gonna dance the night away
You make me feel like dancing
I feel like dancing dancing dance the night away
I feel like dancing dancing - aah
Quarter to four in the morning
I ain’t feeling tired no no no no no
Just hold me tight and leave on the light
Cause I don’t want to go home
You put a spell on me
I’m right where you want me to be
You make me feel like dancing
I want to dance the night away
You make me feel like dancing
I’m gonna dance the night away
You make me feel like dancing
I feel like dancing dancing dance the night away
I feel like dancing, dancing – aah
Doo doo doo doo – woo woop
Doo doo doo doo – oh yeah
Doo doo doo doo – woo woop
Doo doo doo doo – ah ha
You take me higher
I’m gonna catch on fire ‘cos
You make me feel like dancing
I wanna dance the night away
You make me feel like dancing
I’m gonna dance my life away
I feel like dancing dancing dance the night away
I feel like dancing dancing dance the night away
I feel like dancing dancing dance the night away
I feel like dancing dancing - aah
You really slipped me a potion
I can’t get offa the floor
All this perpetual motion
You gotta give me some more
You gotta give me some more
And if you’ll let me stay we’ll dance our lives away
You make me feel like dancing I wanna dance my life away
You make me feel like dancing I wanna dance my life away
You make me feel like dancing I wanna dance my life away
I feel
You make me feel like dancing

The sun came and gone.. hmmm this is the typical ending for a water chicken year.

  2. Guess what? I downloaded the song with limewire. The song is very cheerful and sounds like bee gees. I think it was used for several commercials. Thanks, you make me feel like dancing.

  3. Robin, didn't know this year is the water chicken year. You're right about enjoying the rain while there is.

Agus, wow! That was quick. Nice song, yeah?

  6. FH2o, should it be Guy Sebastian? Is he the Australian who won the Australian Idol contest? If so, yeah, he has that hairstyle too.

No idea about Leo Sayer having new hits though.

"Here Comes the Sun" - have heard that song. Beatles songs are nice and fun to sing during karaoke. haha...... Talk about karaoke, there's one song I like to sing and that is "Hotel California".

  7. talkin of karoke when we were in the boathouse on d Lake during our Chiangmai Expedition, there were about 3 separate karaokes goin on at 3 separate floating restaurants at the SAME time until the wee hours!!! english, thai and mandarin songs all competiting with each other with their terrible singing! luckily we were so exhausted otherwise will not be able to sleep!

I kill the person who dare sing "My Way" at any karaoke!

As u can gather I am not a karaoke fan!

  8. Do you think there's a correlation between people who like to sing that song and them being the domineering type? I know someone who simply has to sing that song EVERYTIME and he is a domineering person alright. Hmmmmm...

Yes, it is tough on the ears when songs are delivered 'differently'. Brings to mind Cameron Diaz in "My Best Friend's Wedding". Oooh! that was so funny!

I'm not a karaoke fan either but just go along for the fun.

  9. Don't get me wrong! I'll join in the karaoke fun on a night out but I wouldn't go out on purpose and book a room for the sake of crooning my heart's out!

Cameron Diaz was a riot in that scene!

'My Way' - strictly for the egoist! I cringe whenever some 'macho' guy (invariably a 'china man') sing that song with the deepest of emotion pathetic to the degree that its the only moment they can show some in the company of young GROs enough to be their daughters! Sad!

  10. "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing"...wow! You've brought back a flood of memories! That song got played on the radio a lot in my late elementary school and junior high days. It was really popular.

FH20, have you ever heard the version of "My Way" sung by Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols? I think you ought to track it down. You'll probably think it poetic justice, especially since Sid wound up committing suicide...

  11. When someone mentions "My Way" I hear Sinatra's voice in my head. But I never cared much for the lyrics.

As "feel like dancing" - whatever puts a smile on your face and lightens your heart, Happysurfer, sing away.

  12. hmm.. no 'My Way" then must go to the young punk type of K-OKE..

This song is definitely a must sing for those old bench sitter in those k-oke lounge..

So avoid them if u hate such song.

  13. MM, 'My Way' sung by Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols? Wow!
That should be interesting. I've got to track this down.

Pandabonium, yes, 'Ole Blue Eyes' he's called, right? 'My Way' is not my cup of tea either but....

Fh2o, to each his own, remember? And remember, Peace, Love and Compassion. Btw, karaoke doesn't have to involve old + young. It can be young + young or old + old and sing their hearts out.

    Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
