Don't be cruel
Small things are cute - miniature toys, figurines, bonsai plants, babies, puppies, kittens, and so forth. Even square watermelons are pretty. But kittens stuffed in bottles are certainly not (cute), no matter how cute kittens may be. Is this for real? How could anyone ever thought about this artform if you could call it that and as if that's not bad enough, there is even a demand for it?! It is so sad. What have we become?

Still One Hole Behind
Need something to laugh about on a Monday?
A man playing on a new golf course got confused as to what hole he was on. He saw a lady playing ahead of him. He walked up to her and asked if she knew what hole he was playing. She replied, "I'm on the 7th hole, and you're a hole behind me, so you must be on the 6th hole." He thanked her and went back to his golf.
On the back nine, the same thing happened, and he approached the lady again with the same request. She said, "I'm on the 14th, you are a hole behind me, so you must be on the 13th." Once again he thanked her.
He finished his round and went into the club house and saw the lady sitting at the end of the bar. He went up to her and said, "Let me buy you a drink to show my appreciation for your help." He started a conversation and asked her what kind of work she did. She said she was in sales, and he said he was in sales also. He asked what she sold.
She replied, "If I told you, you would only laugh."
"No, I wouldn't," he said.
She said, "I sell tampons."
With that he fell on the floor laughing so hard.
She said, "See, I knew you would laugh."
"That's not what I'm laughing at," he replied. "I'm a toilet paper salesman, so I'm STILL one hole behind you!"

A Visit to Sydney
Many Malaysians visit Australia for holiday. Australia being close enough to home, many Malaysian parents send their children to Australia for higher education. Sydney, being the gateway to Australia, is often the first port of call for holiday-makers. A holiday in Sydney need not be expensive as there are many cheap hotels in Sydney. In fact, there are so many hotels in Sydney that you can even get a hotel in Sydney at the very last minute. Best of all is that there are plenty of cheap Sydney hotels, all close by to Sydney's attractions.
Sydney, the oldest and largest city in Australia, has a seductive outdoor lifestyle and great natural beauty. There are lots to see and do in this vibrant city, one of the most beautiful harbor-cities in the world. A visit to the world-renowned Opera House is not to be missed. Another attraction is The Rocks with a colourful history dating back to convict days, The Rocks is a maze of sandstone lanes, cul-de-sacs and courtyards, jam-packed with shops, pubs and restaurants, warehouses and terraces that were built in the early 19th century.
The more adventurous can climb the span of the Harbour Bridge with BridgeClimb or visit the Pylon Lookout. Museums and art galleries are also popular attractions in Sydney. Just as there is an abundance of hotels in Sydney, there is also an abundance of things a visitor can do in Sydney. You can go skiing, swimming (Bondi Beach is a world-famous beach), trekking, visit the famous Taronga Zoo or simply taking it really free and easy.
Australia is a colorful country of events all-year round. Their Australian Springtime Flora Festival is their biggest and best event. Close to 300 exhibitors celebrating the joys of spring and outdoor living. Other festivals include the Hats Off to Country Festival, the Oz Dance Championship, the Snowy River Festival and many others. Their Food and Wine Festivals also draw in big crowds. And, whether you’re a label hunter or a bargain hunter, you’ll love shopping in Sydney. All these attractions and events within reach of your hotel in Sydney either by bus, ferry, train, taxi or car hire.
There is really no shortage of accommodation in Sydney any time of the year. Hotels vary from boutique accommodation in places like North Sydney, Kings Cross, Edgecliff and the lower North Shore, to budget and luxury hotels. For those driving to Sydney from the country, Brisbane or Melbourne it is possible to find good motels just outside of the City Centre, but a useful tip is to note that some hotels provide free parking on last minute deals.
For the budget traveller there is an abundance of hostel and backpacker accommodation which also ranges greatly in quality and location.

Do you choose to be happy?
Do you think there is truth in the above quote? I believe whether it's happiness or sorrow, it is entirely up to the individual afterall, both emotions are a state of mind. You choose to be happy or you choose to be miserable. Just like addiction and its treatment, it doesn't happen without the determination to beat it. Drug rehabs are there with the facilities and knowhow but addiction can be beaten only when the addict resolves to make the treatment work.

The demand for luxury homes
Malaysia is seeing a property boom especially in luxury homes. With most of the city being taken up, developers are now moving away from the city and into the suburbs. Surprisingly, the demand for higher luxury homes has its matching supply. These days, a luxury home is entirely different form the old days. Contemporary luxury homes are sometimes referred to as smart homes. They are equipped with high-tech computers that monitor and control everything from lighting, heating and cooling, to inside and outside security.
Malaysia's Mega Sale is back
The Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival is back. From June 16 to September 2, shoppers can indulge in great bargains, promotions, activities and contests that guarantee a shopping spree to satisfy any shopper. This time of the year too, Malaysia play host to hordes of tourists especially from the Middle-east. Hotels are doing a roaring business running almost full occupancy right up to September.
The festive air is wonderful and with Malaysia celebrating its 5o years of independence this year's shopping carnival promises to be better. I was out shopping with some friends one Saturday and the crowd was unbelievable! Among us, we managed to get some really nice clothes, shoes, perfume, bags. Someone even got a pair of padded panty among other inner-things.

Friday Frolics: How Much Wrath Do You Have?
Today's a great day to frolic. There's sunshine and being Friday and all. You see, we've been having lightning rain-storms every afternoon since Monday. Yeah, Monday, Jul 23, which was supposed to be the hottest day. Something's really wrong with the weather these days and of course, global-warming takes the brunt.
Okay, time for a Friday quiz. How much wrath do you have? I don't believe the score I got. I'm more fiery than that and you better believe it! However, I can play the game of indifference and that would sometimes cheese people off. Oops!!

Your Wrath Quotient: 9% |
Revenge, anger, rage? They're hardly words in your vocabulary. If someone wrongs you, you move on. You'd rather be indifferent than upset. |

Outdoor Kitchen
During the weekends, my colleague and his family love to have their meals outdoors. That's why they have a waterproof, modular outdoor kitchen installed. They do quite a bit of entertaining too so this extra setup works fine for their many barbeques and parties. The many beautiful blooms and fragrances in the garden add to the experience. All they need now is a swimming pool.
Fire ants
The other day, I saw a news report about an elephant stomping on a boy, a teenager, I believe. It was reported that the boy hit the elephant repeatedly and the poor animal couldn't stand it any longer and decided to react.
I read that elephants do have a long memory. They bear grudges. Even bees are like that. I wonder if ants are too? But I do know that if you happen to step on an ant-hill, you would have them all over you in no time. Ants can be a nuisance and more so if they are fire ants. There are ways to get rid of them. Let Controlfireants.com show you how.

Coffee or Cup
I hope the Tiger Show perked you up some. haha..
Here's something inspirational from an email. You might have come across this but still a good read, a reminder sort of.
It is often said that the happiest people in the world are not those who have no
problems, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect. Agree? Read on..
A group of graduates, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work andlife.
Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee.
When all the students had a cup of coffee, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the simple and cheap ones.
While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.
* Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee.
* In most cases, it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.
What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups... Then you began eyeing each other's cups.
* Now consider this:
- Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups.
- They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live.
- Sometimes, by concentrating on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee we have been provided with. Enjoy your coffee!."
* The happiest people don't have the best of everything.
* They just make the best of everything."
1. Live simply.
2. Love generously.
3. Care deeply.
4. Speak kindly.
5. Leave the rest to God. (??)
You are the miracle, my friend;
Your life either shines a light OR casts a shadow!
Shine a light & Enjoy the Coffee!!!

Get your underwear online, Guys
Guys, do you shop online? Online shopping takes the hassle out of shopping as some guys would gladly outsource this chore (especially shopping for underwear) if they could. I know some of my friends would. I found this Australia's leading online men's underwear store and I think my friends would love it.
This Sydney-based store, Down Under Guys Gear, stocks quality products - underwear, clothing and accessories. They have many designer brands of briefs, boxers, trunks and hipsters, swimwear and sleepwear and many others. They have been in the business for over five years, shipping quality products worldwide, and have built a great reputation for quality products and excellent service offering free delivery for domestic orders for over $50 and international orders over $80.
For mens underwear look no further. Dugg is surely the one. If you join as a member, you'd get a 5% discount on your second order. With the wide variety of brands available, you'd be spoilt for choice.

Tiger Show & Haadyai
Haadyai, a town in Southern Thailand, is a popular holiday destination for Malaysians. Those days, we could take a MAS flight there from KL but I think it has been discontinued unless the Low Cost Carriers have picked it up. These days, going by road in buses is the norm though it is also accessible by train.
I remember, there were three things that people look forward to in Haadyai. One is the cheap seafood, especially the sharkfins soup (that was before we knew about how sharks were killed for their fins). The second attraction was the shopping and lastly, important to the guys mostly, was the Tiger Show, and that's what the topic of this post is. Notice I used the past tense because I think nowadays, the priority has somewhat changed or am I mistaken?
Anyway, back to Tiger Show. Seriously, I wonder what's so interesting about these shows. You tell me. Here are some pictures.
What were you thinking??

Looking for a sea coast property?
A company expat from North Carolina just found himself an apartment in the city. He got it through a real estate company actually. He chose an apartment instead of a landed property mainly for the security and other facilities available which include a swimming pool and a tennis court among others. He understands the type of accommodation available here which is different from those of Wilmington NC real estate, the latter featuring sea coast properties.
What do you have in your bag?
Do you carry a bag to work? If you do, what's in your bag? For essentials, some of us lug a laptop around town; others a good old-fashioned diary or organizer, yet others a PDA, etc. It basically depends on what you do that determines what you have in your bag. For example, athletes and pilots would have gadgets like a pulse oximeter among other sports gadgets and paraphernalia. For ladies, cosmetics are among the essentials. Yes, stockings too.
A good appetite adds pounds
It is often said that money is the root of all evil. But where weight is concerned, food is really the root of all evil. I know. My friends want to lose weight but with the food that they indulge in, no amount of gym-work will be able to help them. They probably need hoodia, a natural product that has the ability to suppress a person's appetite and promote weight loss.

A weekend visit to Muar town - Part 2
Let's continue with my weekend visit to Muar. Apologies, this took longer that I anticipated. If you have not read the earlier installment, you can read "A weekend visit to Muar town - Part 1" here before you read this concluding part.
Life in Muar looks like rather laid-back and there are lots of bungalows like this one on the outskirts, most of them with a fruit tree or two in the compound. Notice the trademark 60-foot tv antenna towards the left. It's like every household with a tv has such an antenna sticking out into the sky. "ET call home?"
See what I mean?
It was soon time to leave. This is the bridge and we were headed north, back to KL. I was told the bridge is out of bounds to pedestrians. This is to prevent any suicide attempts.
Some 500m after the bridge is the Tanjung Agas Industrial Zone. There are two major electronics companies here, one of which is STMicroelectronics. I read that this site has been expanded making it the company's main manufacturing site. Notice the funny-looking, white with blue lines building? That's the new wing.
The picture on the left is one of a new oil palm estate. This is one of many seen from the highway. It doesn't look like it but the estate is on a sprawling hill. The palm trees are planted in neat rows. Mature palm trees look like the ones in the picture on the right. Where these lands used to be rubber plantations, oil palm estates have taken over some of them though there still are rubber plantations.
Interstate buses are colourful these days and there are many bus companies plying the route. PuduRaya bus station is where you can board a bus to Muar. There are many departure times and if you travel on non-peak times or during the weekday, you will be able to get tickets easily at the ticket-booths. No buying ahead needed.
These express buses can sometimes give you the jitters at the speed some of them go. If you see one that goes unusually slow, chances are, there is a police officer onboard. A few months ago, the government decided to do something about the high incidence of accidents involving buses so a police officer is assigned to ride with a bus - not 100% of the buses but randomly.
This is a highway toll plaza or collection booth. A trip to Muar incurs a toll of approximately Rm23 one-way, I think. I don't quite remember.
It's interesting to see what sort of goods lorries carry. I was told on weekends horses may be transported to turf club venues for the races as in from Singapore to KL or vice versa. Other goods include large monsoon drain pipes, timber logs, fresh vegetables, furniture, spanking new cars on long trailers, even pigs in baskets. **Oink! Oink!**
This time of the year, durians are a common sight in lorries. This lorry was the fourth one we passed. Durians are bought in bulk from the orchards and transported to bigger towns or cities where they bring in larger profits.
After about two and a half hours, we finally were back in KL.
This is a favourite tourist spot in KL. It's the Palace grounds. Notice the crowd on the right? That's where the Palace gate is. Photo opportunity here with the sentry normally in the picture. Sorry about the car in the foreground. I didn't want to crop it off lest it leaves too little to see.
We passed the National Library. This is the last picture that I have. Sorry, it's blur - blame it on unsteady hands and amateurish efforts. I know I don't do the pictures justice. Anyway, I had fun, hope you did too. Until next time.........

Robin came to visit
I was feeling a little nosey, so I thought I would look in on you and see if you are sitting at your computer... Yup, there you are! Doing nothing - as usual!
I tell you, this is just too weird! This nosey giraffe email is the second time I'm receiving and I thought of Robin this time. Why? Because Robin has got him (Robin's a he, right?) on his profile slot. The reason I said weird is because of all days, Robin dropped by and left comments. Oh my!!
Alternative Dating
It is often said that birds of a feather flock together and I say, that is not all bad. At least there is a common topic to talk or rave about. Garden lovers can talk flowers and seeds, knitting enthusiasts can exchange notes on wool and measurements, painters can talk Van Gogh. They can even get hitched. Talk about getting hitched, I came across this site on alternative dating.
So if you are into things gothic and would like to make new friends, gothscene.com is the site you could be looking for. It's the #1 Alternative Dating Community on the Net and it is free to join. Check out the profiles and pick someone you fancy to go goth dating. Only interested in goth guys in your area? Easy. Just do an Area Search. Want to see who you are dating? Easy too. Browse their photo gallery.
I am Thankful
Yep! I am delinquent on Part 2 of the Weekend Visit to Muar but I am working on it. Just need to put text to pictures. Have been bogged down by the thing that pays for my bread and butter. Other than that, I'm doing okay. Hope you are doing just fine too.
I am not complaining, just so thankful by contrast.

Financial Consolidation Simplifies Reporting
A friend whose auto spare parts business extends to three different outlets was lamenting about the difficulty of keeping track of the financial aspect of the business. Perhaps he should check out a financial consolidation software to improve the financial reporting process without sacrificing vital controls or compliance with laws and regulatory bodies. The ability to consolidate increasingly complex corporate hierarchies, while managing key stakeholder relationships is fundamental to businesses.
A Vacation Home Offers Flexibility
Have you been to Scandinavia? Me, neither. This evening, some friends of mine will be on a plane to Scandinavia for a two-week holiday. It is summer right now so it won't be too cold. They would be able to experience the effect of the midnight sun this time of the year though they will miss the aurora borealis which often occurs from September to October and from March to April. A cruise will also be part of their itinerary.
They are joining an organized tour and some nights will be spent in vacation homes, not unlike an Orlando vacation home which offers some flexibility in their activities.

Once A Golfer, Always A Golfer?
I once asked a golfer as to what it is that draws him to the game and the element that keeps him still so interested in the game after all these years. He explained that golf is quite similar to bowling in that you have no direct opponent and each time you play, you just want to better your last score.
Just like bowling, there are many brands of golf equipment to choose from. Titleist golf is one of the popular brands with its range of clubs, accessories, bags, balls and so forth.

Online Watch-shopping
Let's talk about watches a bit. Some people collect stamps and some people collect watches. I am not a collector (of watches, I mean) but I enjoy looking over them in watch shops. I don't subscribe to watch-collecting because I feel we just need a watch to tell time, not ten or twenty, though several to change to match an outfit or a mood would be nice.
Collecting watches can be a costly affair if you were to buy them over the counter. Fortunately, it needn't be now with online shopping. I found this online store that carries some of the popular brands such as Nixon Watches, Seiko, Timex, Casio watches and more. It's unbelievable that you can get these watches for as low as 50% as opposed to buying them from regular watch shops.
Watches can be very resilient. I remember I had a Seiko watch that served me well for more than ten years. Timex Watches are sought after by athletes
at both professional level and the regular person. Timex watches can be worn as an everyday watch but also have the features for an advanced elite athlete. If you like G-Shock watches, they now come in slimmer versions too, such as the new ultra slim G-056 series.
Get a paradigm shift and try shopping online for watches. You might even like it.

RM100 fine for Losing Your Identity Card
One of the legacies that the British left behind is the Identity Card. Every Malaysian, from the age of twelve has to have an Identity Card, now in the form of MyKad. Until recently, that piece of document has to be carried wherever one goes. The government has relented a little and has allowed a photocopy to be carried around instead. It is against the law to have in possession someone else's MyKad.
MyKad was introduced seven years ago and 381,978 people have yet to convert their old identity cards to the MyKad. Another concern is the loss of the document for various reasons. Todate, 2,123,611 people have lost their card and this year alone, the count is, 58,839 loss cards, which means about 1,000 people lose their cards daily!
The fine for a replacement is a mere RM10 but once the new ruling comes into effect end of this year, the fine will be increased 10-fold to RM100 for the first-time loss, and RM200 and RM300 for the second and third losses to compel people to be more responsible with their MyKad. Not sure about the fine for further losses though.
However, those who lose their cards to snatch thieves and due to natural disasters, would be exempted from the fines but they must produce police reports. The disabled and senior citizens are also exempted from the fines.
What compulsory document do you have in your country?

Friday Frolics: What Type of Genius Are You?
It's Friday again so here's another fun quiz which I reproduced from a Malaysian Cleo magazine. It looks like a long quiz but don't be deterred by the length. The results are worth the trudge, believe me. By the way, this quiz appears like it's skewed towards the Venus gender but I'd say it's still applicable for both genders. Use your good judgment. Besides, this is just for fun, right?
The latest research shows that there are at least five types of intelligence. That means we are all eggheads. To find out your true genius, take this test.
How to do it
Circle the answer that applies to you most strongly. Don't spend too long thinking about the questions - if more than one answer fits, choose the one you instinctively do/feel/think most often in the given situation. Then total up your symbol scores, check out "How You Fared" to find out what sort of genius you are.
Okay, got pen and paper ready?
1. Which of these is the best description of your bedroom?
Spiral: It's a retreat, painted in your favourite soothing colour with floaty curtains, scented candles and vases of freshly-cut flowers.
Square: It's practical rather than designer style. You don't spend much time there, except when you're sleeping.
Star: It's homely and the walls are covered with photographs of your friends and family.
Triangle: It's full of books, magazines and old newspaper articles that you haven't got around to reading yet.
Circle: Your bed is neatly made and all yur clothes are hung up or folded away - even your shoes are packed away in their boxes.
2. When you read a newspaper, which pages do you turn to first?
Circle: News - you always catch up on the latest current affairs.
Square: The culture section, or the back pages - knowing the latest football scores is vital.
Star: The gossip pages - you have to be up-to-date on celebrity news to chat about it with your mates.
Spiral: The horoscopes - you can't relax until you know what's in the stars.
Triangle: The entertainment listings - you love knowing where's hot to go and where's not.
3. Which of these most closely matches your favourite daydream?
Square: You're on a podium receiving a gold medal.
Star: You're on holiday on a tropical beach with all your best mates.
Circle: You're offered the job of your dreams complete with a hefty salary, company car and your own office.
Triangle: You're on a date with the hot celeb of your dreams.
Spiral: You quit your job, pack up your ruck-sack and spend a whole year travelling around the world.
4. You're at a friend's party when you spot the sexiest bloke you've seen in ages. You:
Triangle: Walk over and introduce yourself.
Star: Catch his eye and flutter your lashes until he comes over to you.
Spiral: Smile in his direction, but focus on having fun with your mates. If the two of you are meant to get it on, it'll happen naturally.
Circle: Quiz your friend about who he is, where he works, what he's like, whether or not he's got a girlfriend.
Square: Hit the dance floor (even if there wasn't one until now) and use your irresistible moves to hypnotise him.
5. What makes you laugh?
Triangle: A girlie night down at the pub with your best mates. After a few drinks you always get the giggles.
Spiral: Spending time with little kids. They're so cute that they always have you in hysterics.
Square: Slapstick comedy. People falling over or being clumsy - it's hilarious.

Square: Losing your health.
Circle: Losing your job.
Triangle: Losing your friends.

Spiral: Losing your boyfriend.

Spiral: Customised jeans, a funky top and a furry jacket.
Star: A sexy skirt with knee-high boots, trendy fishnets and a glam top.
Circle: You meet him straight from work - it's your personality he should be interested in, and you don't want to come across as a sex bomb.
Square: Cool, but comfy, combats and trainers combination.
Triangle: A fantastically expensive designer outfit you persuaded your best mate to lend you.
HOW YOU FARED
If you scored more of one symbol than any other
This is your genius Q, the one that you effortlessly excel at and your greatest natural asset in life. You always react to events and cope with them using this Q and it's your most instinctive approach to any emotional, practical or physical crisis. The description for that Q should fit you very strongly. You may benefit from developing the types of Q you scored low on, so read the tips on how you can enhance your Q in each section.
If you have two equally high scoring symbols
Both the descriptions should fit you quite strongly. You'll find you switch from one Q to the other in different situations, depending on which approach you sense will work best.
If your answers are spread among three or more of the symbols
Read all the relevant sections and you'll recognise aspects of yourself in all the Qs, which means you're a great all-rounder. But maybe you're hiding one particular Q under a bushel? Are you stifling a natural talent because it didn't fit in with what your parents expected of you?
SO WHAT SORT OF GENIUS ARE YOU?
If you scored mostly circles, you've got a high IQ. You are an INTELLECTUAL GENIUS.
Strong points:
You're self-motivated, ambitious and well organised. Practical concerns, like work and money, are very important to you and you instinctively know how to excel in these areas. "People with a high IQ have a great ability to concentrate and solve problems, and have the motivation to achieve great professional success," says psychologist, Joe Maddox.
Watch out for:
Being too obsessive and hypercritical of yourself and others. You can find it hard to relax or make friends.
Perfect careers:
You'd do well in medicine, law or business. Your organisational abilities also mean you'd make a great PA.
If you didn't pick any circles:
Switch off the TV (unless it's a quiz show) and start reading a book or newspaper. Anything that exercised your brain will boost your problem-solving abilities and improve your memory and IQ.
IF YOU SCORED MOSTLY SPIRALS, YOU'VE GOT A GREAT SQ - You're a Spiritual Genius
Strong points:
You're easy-going, caring, relaxed and will always put yourself out for others. Equally, you understand the importance of your own well-being and are probably interested in New Age things. You're a good listener and have masses of natural empathy and compassion. You instinctively understand that there is more to life than material things and making money.
Watch out for:
Being irresponsible and over-emotional - you often find it impossible to step back from a stressful situation, so remember to think before you act.
Perfect careers:
You have a strong caring streak - nursing or childcare would suit you, as would campaigning on issues you care about. You'd also enjoy being a vet.
If you don't pick any spirals:
Try to focus on your hopes and dreams for the future and learn to relax and spend time doing the things that make you happy and fulfilled.
IF YOU SCORED MOSTLY STARS, YOU HAVE AN EXCELLENT EQ - You're an Emotional Genius
Strong points:
You're in touch with your emotions. You have a great sense of humour, are confident and make friends easily. You bounce back well from life's knocks because you can sort through your emotions without getting depressed. You instinctively know when situations are right for you and when people are taking advantage of you.
Watch out for:
Your self-confidence being mistaken for arrogance by less secure people. You get bored easily because you're always looking for new and exciting ideas.
Perfect careers:
You love to be the centre of attention and would be a natural working in people-oriented industries such as entertainment, media or advertising.
If you didn't pick any stars:
Develop your self-confidence and don't suppress emotions. Spend time with people who make you feel good about yourself.
IF YOU SCORED MOSTLY TRIANGLES, YOU'VE GOT A VERY GOOD VQ - You're a Verbal Genius
Strong points:
You find it easy to talk to strangers because you know so much and can talk the hind legs off a donkey. You may speak more than one language. "You find it easy to influence other people and get them on your side. This is useful both in your personal life and in your career as it means people are keen to please you and willing to go out of their way to help you out," says psychologist, Joe Maddox.
Watch out for:
Seeming manipulative and insincere as you've got the gift of the gab.
Perfect careers:
You could have a great career in sales, PR, journalism or broadcasting where your talent for talking will earn you cash.
If you didn't pick any triangles:
Be open to visiting new places to experience a variety of new people and learn what makes them tick.
IF YOU SCORED MOSTLY SQUARES, YOU'VE GOT PLENTY OF PQ - You're a Physical Genius
Strong points:
You have great control over your body and your co-ordination is above average - you're probably a talented athlete or dancer. Gilles d'Ambra, author of Measure Your EQ Factor, says, "You live through your senses and want to make the most of everything life has to offer. You're likely to be a touchy-feely kind of girl." You're a natural flirt with your instinctive understanding of body language.
Watch out for:
Not stopping to think and missing out on the emotional qualities of friendship. You're so busy "doing", you sometimes don't bother with people who're less active than you.
Perfect careers:
Anything that taps your ability to make your body do what you want it to.
If you didn't pick any squares:
Those with high VQs should take part in team sports. If you have high IQs or SQs, try something spiritual like yoga.

4 Reasons to Choose Funds Over Stocks
I have friends who won't even touch mutual funds with a 10-foot pole, yet there is the other group that hoards up on funds as opposed to collecting stocks.
I came across an interesting article on Motley Fools's Newsletter which has some interesting views on stocks, funds and such and there is one particular article on "4 Reasons to Choose Funds Over Stocks" which is quite a good read.

Own a Cool T-Shirt
Did you know that the T-Shirt was first meant as standard issue underwear in the Navy and Army during WWII? Live Earth
Many of us enjoyed the live concerts happening all over the world last weekend. Did we give it a thought as to what inspired these concerts? The warning words below the picture and others should trigger some sort of action for all.
More wise words:
We have been told that we have just 10 years to avoid the catastrophic tipping point of the Climate Crisis.
We must change the way we live.
And we have been told that global oil production will peak and decline permanently within 10 years. This is called 'Peak Oil'. To learn more about 'Peak Oil' visit www.powerswitch.org.uk
We will have no choice but to change the way we live.

Outfit your Garage with Garage Cabinets and More
Having a garage is like having another room in your home. It is a great storage place for things you normally only use once in a while, other times stashed away somewhere. So a garage comes in handy. Because garages are such a handy storeroom,
things are sometimes being chucked haphazardly in it making the garage a messy, cluttered place.
Garage cabinets would be the answer to organizing things and eliminating the mess. Carguygarage carry over 1,000 different products for garages. They have the most unique and functional garage cabinets. You have a choice of steel, wood and aluminium garage cabinets, the latter come completely assembled and ready for your garage. For me, aluminium cabinets work best because they are resistant to mold, mildew and corrosion.

Please, Don't cook your brains with a phone-call
The DJ this morning shared with listeners the result of an AT&T survey that guys spend more time on the phone than ladies. Now you know! Regardless, there is a lot of hype about phone-use from it being hazardous to health, bad for the heart if placed too near it for extended periods of time, and so forth. The next time you use the phone, you may want to give your brains a thought.
An experiment was conducted.
One egg and 2 mobiles
65 minutes to call from one phone to the other
Set up something like the one below
Call was initiated between the mobiles to last for 65 min's approximately:
Nothing will happen on the first 15 minutes...
After 25 minutes the egg starts warming up,
After 45 min's, the egg is already hot; and
After 65 min's the egg is cooked.
Conclusion:
If the microwave radiation emitted by the mobiles is capable to modify the proteins in the egg. Imagine what it can do with the proteins in our brains when we talk through the mobiles.
Would anyone like to try this out and report your results? Just to be sure?

Paying with one-sen coins is okay – up to RM2
Most of us have a container at home that collects all the one sen coins. At least, I do and it is filling up fast. The times I could use these one sen coins are at fastfood joints and sometimes for utilities bills which would still take more visits and payments to deplete the stock.
In Malaysia, even though we know that all coins are legal tender, how many of us really know how much of the one sen coins can we use per transaction?
According to Section 24 of the Central Bank of Malaysia Act, you can use one sen, five sen, 10 sen and 20 sen coins to pay for a transaction of up to RM2 while for 50 sen coins, you can pay for a product or service worth up to RM10.

Buying used cars
Malaysia has very recently relaxed import of motor vehicles allowing all makes of vehicles being available on the market. This has led to strong competition among car dealers and prices being substantially reduced much to the advantage of car buyers. Along the way, used cars are getting a bashing where prices are concerned.
To add to the problem, these days, people who are looking for used cars are concerned that the car they are buying may have been a victim of a flood as certain parts of the country suffered some bad flooding recently.
If one is looking for a used car, there are abundant choices. It's really a buyer's market here. Every make is available and at such low prices, it's hard to believe. We have not progressed to shopping for used cars online because I don't think there is any local website available, so we just go shopping physically for the car we want.
However, online shopping for Used Cars does have its advantages. For a start it saves you time as you can narrow down the search of the vehicle you are looking for. Some websites even allow you to put up your car for sale.

A weekend visit to Muar town - Part 1
Over the weekend, I joined a friend on a trip back to her hometown, Muar. Before the trip, I thought I'd 'wiki' the place and was pleasantly surprised that I was able to find Muar in Wikipedia.
Muar is in the northern part of the State of Johore on the western side and is some two and and a half hours away from Kuala Lumpur and is roughly in the centre between KL and Singapore. Being a coastal town and not along the main highway route, the only way of getting there is by road. There is no rail nor air service. This little town at one time had the most number of bicycles in the whole of Malaysia. Bicycle-owners had to pay a RM2 licence fee for their vehicle.
The plan was to leave KL at 7am so that there would be less traffic being a Saturday but that did not happen.
Muar on the west coast is actually facing the Indonesian island of Sumatra where the hotspots are, so the sky was pretty hazy. A river cuts Muar off from the other side. Getting across used to be by way of a ferry service but a bridge built some forty years ago has made it convenient.
The river has been cleaned up as compared to those days, I was told.
From the middle of the bridge, I noticed a few of these structures out on the river. I believe this is the way they farm cockles.
Muar is a fishing town and fresh fish is readily available which accounts for Muarians (as they are called) enjoying the best otak-otak, a spicy fish paste snack wrapped in coconut leaves grilled over a low charcoal fire. Despite Muar being the origin of this snack, otak-otak is still cheaper in Muar than anywhere else and taste much better too. You can get a stick for only RM0.25.
Another famous food found in Muar is the fresh oyster omelette which in local Hokkien dialect is called "ooh-chien" or "ooh-luak" in Teochew - "ooh" meaning "oyster" while "chien" and "luak" meaning "fried", basically fried oyster but in eggs. I was told the best ooh-chien is from one stall downtown in the food district. There is usually a long queue from the time they open their stall in the evening until they close around 10:00pm. Though the food is delicious, it guarantees increased cholesterol, being an oily dish.
Moored by the banks of the river are some fishing boats.
Old and new buildings stand side by side. Note the long poles protruding from the roof. These are 60-foot tv antennas for receiving Singapore programmes. Muar is in a sweet spot where with these tall antennas, residents have the best of both worlds, Malaysia and Singapore tv programmes.
Like all towns in Malaysia, there are still these wooden single-storey shophouses. Notice the zinc roofs. These have been here for at least 50 years. Motorbikes are also a common mode of transport here and they are conveniently parked in front of the shops during the day. The streets were busy with cars and parking lots were scarce downtown.
These are the newer shops. The town is still growing. New housing estates and commercial areas are still being developed in the outskirts of the town.

How much do you know about your home insurance?
Buying a home is one of the single largest investments that most people ever make. Therefore, it makes sense to protect that investment and your main line of defense is homeowners insurance.
How much do we know or make it a point to find out about the home insurance that we take out for our home? Did you read your homeowners insurance policy to find out exactly what is and is not covered?
Or did you know that most insurers offer discounts if you have a home security system or if you lived near a fire department or hydrant or own a home built out of fire-resistant materials? It helps to know the facts. I found such use useful information on Insurance.com.

Drop in Johor Bahru crime rate
As a follow-up to my earlier post, Stop the Violence in Johor Bahru, I read the other day that the crime rate in JB has dropped. The Star reported that:
The increased police presence in the city is showing results – the crime figures have dropped this week as more than 90 police cars and 150 FRU men have been patrolling the streets of Johor Baru (South) and Johor Baru (North) districts since Monday. "

Let's hope the good trend continues.
