A Horror Story..maybe

I was reading about Steven Hawking's suggestion that aliens almost certainly exist but has warned humanity not to try to contact them. This article is dated Apr 2010.

Aliens may not be how we have always imagined them to be (looking like cute ET, for instance) or as friendly as we think they are afterall.

Hawking says that in a universe with 100 billion galaxies, each containing hundreds of millions of stars, it is unlikely that earth is the only place where life has evolved.

"The real challenge is working out what aliens might actually be like."

Hawking says that they could be microbes – basic animals such as worms which have been on Earth for millions of years, but suggests that extraterrestrial life could develop much further.

"We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet," Hawking said.

Maybe one alien we meet may be like this one..

Frankly, we do not have to look beyond our planet to find horrors, we have enough of them here on Earth already. The creepy crawlies we have are enough to scare the wits out of us. Don't believe me? Just imagine a cockroach or a lizard landing on your face.. Ewww!

My male chauvinist friend sent me this for obvious reasons. See if you agree.

  1. Anonymous5:30 PM

Man is afraid of woman? Hmmmmmm!!!!

  2. Humanity not to try to contact them? got a friend who says she is in constant contact with them. Hey that alien looks kinda cute.. Oh man afraid of woman that's interesting becoz she has have 2 extra alphabets in front? haha.

  3. I don't have to go into outer space to meet aliens. I've got a few in my classroom. :D

PS: Yes of course I'm afraid of cockroaches, especially the icky ones in Japan: they can fly! Can you imagine the horror of a flying cockroach?!

  4. This reminds me of a friend working for a Taiwanese firm and the Taiwanese got a game something like what what you posted in challenging 'who is afraid of who or what? and that game normally is played when they have drinking session. In Mandarin its "誰怕誰 shéi pà shéi?" and knowing most Malaysians are bananaz *angmoh sai* and can't speak Mandarin this Taiwanese guy spontaneously translated.."Who Pà Who?" and got everybody ROTFL.

  5. STP, maybe the sentence isn't complete. It should probably read

Man is afraid of woman.. spending money without thinking, nagging non-stop and at little things too, etc., etc. LOL

  6. Bananaz, interesting friend you have.

The power of two little letters? LOL

  7. Rurousha, psst.. and do they know that? hehe..

I know what you mean! Cockroaches don't give me the creeps until they start flying. When I was a little girl, I was terrified with one such 'alien' at a neighbour's home. Eeek!

Btw, I understand the flying species is edible and they are used in Chinese medicine too. Heck, we Chinese eat practically anything (going to be shot for saying this..)! Even pigeon droppings are part of Chinese medicine, for crying out loud.

  8. Bananaz, it boils down to the chicken-and-egg story. Did you all have fun?

  9. He got a new name Who Pà Who so now I Pa You..haha
