Hair Loss in Women
This morning's topic of discussion at the breakfast table at work was about hair or rather the lack of it, hair loss. Hair loss is normally associated with men but women too suffer from the condition called female pattern hair loss. The (hair) loss is predominantly visible on the top and sides of the head. One-third of women suffer from female pattern hair loss after menopause.
Did you know that women lose 100-125 strands of hair each day and that if you lose more than 125, that would be considered true female pattern hair loss. Of course there are effective products to counteract hair loss as well as promote hair growth.
What interesting topic has your group talked about at breaks?

ReplyDeleteerr, to me, nothing special.. just chat whatever that comes out of mind but really nothing specific on certain topic..
ReplyDeleteooh, so you have the statistics for men?? do men drop 100-125 strands of hair a day too?? hmmm, that much?? quite unbelievable to me..
ReplyDeleteerr, i actually find strands of hair on my bed and on the floor.. errr, there are 100 of them a day?? really??
ReplyDeleteSo you had a hair raising morning over cuppa. 100-125 strands for ladies is quite a lot. [SK] read in one mag for men was around 60 strands per day presume shorter hair would not be easier to drop. A hair stylist friend of mine advised against tying little girls hair too tight during plaiting or pony tail style etc as that might damage the hair over the long term.
ReplyDeleteI do have hair loss issue and have consulted my hairstylist and according to him, as long as there are baby hair growing back after lots of hair drop, you're still on the safe zone!
ReplyDeleteHair lose is a common problem for all of us especially in women. The information you provided is true but we must stop hair lose from the very early stage. The main reason for hair lose is pollution. Thanks for the post and have a nice week ahead.
ReplyDeletePerhaps they should comb their hair less? :p

Not sure about the stats for men but one thing's for sure though, a number of factors can cause hair loss, one of which is stress. So, take it easy, yeah?
Bananaz, hair-raising? LOL! 60 strands is a good number vs 100. Thanks for the tips from your hairstylist friend. Makes sense.
